Let me guess. Sondheim?

Geez the Steeler O is just dreadful when they get inside the 20. I have a feeling both these games are going to be close and very low scoring.

I tell you what for the first quarter I have to say New England is impressing me. Should be an interesting second half.
osufan
Wow the refs are just so polite today ! taking the time to explain to us so eloquently. "I just need to check the spot of the ball, I am not changing the ruling. Thank you" This is new to us Cleveland fans, getting things explained from the refs !

TOUCHDOWN NEW ENGLAND !!!!!!!!!!!!!! YIPPEE

Drewwwwwwww! Are the Pats the most incredible story, week after week, or what?

I'm actually getting a thrill everytime there's a penalty, replay review or explanation, cause that square-jawed, barrel-chested, broad-shouldered ref #85 (didn't catch his name - something like Ed Hockeyleague?) is some hump of man! And he actually looks good in stripes!

Keep it goin', PATS!! All the way to N.O.!

Don't know about ref#85's looks, but his explanations and decisions have been a beauty to behold. Three challenges, three convincing decisions with little protest. Tough job to do so well...so far.

Hated to see Tom Brady hurt but it may have been for the best for NE. When Brady was slightly injured earlier even though he made a great pass afterward he seemed a bit rattled. With one of the best (and highest paid) QBs in the league on the bench, fate did Belicheck a favor by allowing Bledsoe back onto the field after a long abscence. He seems hyped and could put on a show in the second half. I'm hyped to. One of the most gorgeous QBs in the league has been replaced by one of the sexiest.

LIFE IS GOOD!!!

Well I have the Steelers in the Pick 'Em game, but I SOOOOO don't care if I lose this one. The Patriots are just a great story. And Kordell looks as lost, if not more so, as the last time he played in the AFC title game.

M. Edwards of New England #44, an Ex Cleveland Brown has an awesome butt !

You hear that annoying horn playing in Pittsburgh, then you sing: HERE WE GO STEELERS....WE SUCK !
HERE WE GO STEELERS......WE SUCK !
PCC
Thank goodness the first game was so long that it ended as the second game began.

The good thing about Warner having been around now for a few years is we don't have to hear the sob stories about how he used "stock grocery store shelves"....this of course is after the Browns cut him cuz they didn't think he'd amount to anything...
homer
Ed Hochuli (sp?) - YES, he's fair, he's plainspoken and he's the hunkiest thing in stripes outside the yankees
Eagles and Patriots in the SuperBowl!

Really?

Rams 29 Eaglets 17, 4 :40

Ernie Conwell is f**kin' hot, hot, hot!

It was so nice to see that both games today were really good, interesting, close or relatively close games, with lots of added dramas, namely the Referee's calls and such. I really thought N.E. was going to blow it big time. They very nearly lost this game with their penalties...
As Far as the Rams game. It was a nail biter, right to the very end. Did anyone else hear Warners comments during the awards ceremony? Is he a holy roller? Just curious. Nothing against these people mind you, but I was wonderin'.
Unfortunately the Superbowl could be a SuperbustI fear. Rams 37-N.E.14.

It is apparent the New England Patriots are this year's version of last year's New York Giants.

I feel Rams will definitely win because they are like the Yankees. Remember they won the World Series in 1996 then were knocked out of the playoffs the following year ("the year after winning syndrome") and then they won the following year. Rams won 2 years ago, knocked out last year ("the year after winning syndrome") and now they will win next week. Money in the bank.

I didn't see the post-game stuff but Warner is known to be very religious...which is why I didn't watch the post-game stuff, because I knew he'd bring it up. But regarding the game.....

ARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

What a damn shame for the Eagles. They turn over the ball on the first series and the Rams score, and you all were probably thinking "blowout"--yet they kept their composure and fought back for the lead by halftime. Then the Rams went to a ball-control offense, of all things, and gave Marshall Faulk the ball a lot more. Meanwhile, Warner was never pressured. It seems like the Eagles blitzed much less in this game. I don't know if the Troy Vincent injury was the reason, but it clearly didn't work.

And even so, down 12 points the Eagles scored a touchdown, the defense held and they had the ball near midfield with over 2 minutes left with a chance to win! They just couldn't get it done.

The Eagles didn't run the ball properly. On the local radio broadcast they mentioned how the Rams defense is very fast, but not really large. So most of the Eagles running plays were to the outside (and that one stupid end-around) which allowed the speedy Rams to catch up to them. They should have run the ball up the middle a lot more to see if the offensive line could've pounded out some yards and worn them down. Plus, McNabb should have run more in the second half. He ran a few in the first half, and that's when the Eagles were more effective.

It was a great run but it's so very, VERY frustrating to come that close and not win. Would anyone like to come over to my house and console me?

Unfortunately, the Super Bowl is gonna be ugly! I think I'll go see a movie instead.

F*CK the Patriots! F*CK Brady (he ain't THAT good-looking anyway)! F*CK Bledsoe (I knew he would be more of a danger to the Steelers "D" than Brady)! F*CK Kordell, who I STILL say is a mediocre QB at best! And while I'm at it, F*CK anything having to do with New England, its fans, etc.! They're going to get CREAMED in the Super Bowl anyway. Bunch of wishful pansies. Go home.

UMP!!! Dude, take a deep breath. And for God's sake, lay off the coffee! I have this image of your head just exploding.

BTW, who were you rooting for in the game?
Herr Tiggee
Congrats to Philly, for making it MORE of a game than I actually believed it would be. In the end, the reason why I believed they would NOT make it proved correct. My granny has better odds at her bingo binges than Ms. Stewart, errr, Mr. Stewart does of hitting his/her target.
As for the Pittsburgh game...I am still in shock. How the hell did the Steelers manage to lose this game? What a letdown! The city that adorns all of its teams (MLB,NFL,NHL) in black and gold will have to wait yet another year for a chance to win a championship. Come to think of it, doesn't Pitt University wear black and gold????
Maybe they should change colors and unis on some of these teams to ease away from the stigma.
Better try orange...or purple. There's been quite a few teams winning rings in those colors of late.

All I can say is that Bledsoe can throw a pass while on his heels unlike anyone I've seen in a long time....And that lob was poetry...

This is fitting. I've been blasting the Rams all season, and now my team, the Patriots, get to have the last shot at them.

If there is a God . . .

Cyd,
There is a God, unfortunately he plays for the Rams

and Jim at Outsports:

"Loved seeing Drew Bledsoe play and do well for
New England. His best pass came on 3rd-and-11
from his own 30, less than six minutes left and New
England clinging to a seven-point lead. Bledsoe
floated a perfect, soft pass with just the right arc to
Brown for a first down. Clutch."

YEEESSSS. My stomach fluttered just like that pass. A joy to behold. Acuracy, patience, precision.. the difference between an inexperienced QB (no disrespect to Brady, I love the hunk..and have utmost respect for his game) and an experienced one. It was definitely the highlight of the game for me. (Though seeing Brady run over to give him congrats ran a very close second.)

P. S. I think Brady should start the Superbowl if he's healthy.
