Last Night, myself and fellow Eagle Alumni MDPHL, True Eagles Fan.... had a discussion over a beer, or 4.

I have pinned down the Sept 20th game on Monday Night Vs. The Vikes as the number one choice. Actually my buddy did cause he has to be out there anyway.

MD has agreed to attend...

JIP, phillyrunner, Scottie... GJ? et all.... We should attend this festival O'Eagle.

I know that tix go on sale sometime in June/July. So we would need a plan of action. Does anyone have connections? These tix are brutal to get, but we should give it a shot.

Since this is a monday nighter, this is a great chance to get in some quality tailgating.

Yo sting sting.. the hammer has been thrown, however, i cant say for 100% i can quarantee your safety. um, that goes for anyone else who is intrested....
Joe in Philly
That'll be my first day back at work after 3 weeks off (for my trip to Canada for the World Cup of Hockey games) so my tailgating would be limited to after I leave work...as for tickets: if we don't have a connection the advice is to call Ticketmaster numbers other than the Phila. one, because you'll be likely to be able to get through and if you're not dealing with a total moron on the other end of the phone, you could be able to get tickets. However, my suggestion would be to have scottie schmooze with his new pal Rhea Hughes of WIP when she speaks at the Outsports Convention! I bet she could come through with tickets. If scottie's willing to undertake this mission biggrin.gif we should get a count ASAP.

Well scottie will just have to put out for the WIP babe.... Maybe we can also track down someone from Ticketmaster for him to do some favors for also.... All bases need to be covered.
stinger85
Oh, count me in. It will be great to see the Vikings crush the Eagles for my first NFL game. And I'm not worried about my safety, I can dodge batteries.
PhillyFan
WOW an NFL virgin????

That's the first time Sting has been called that since he was like 12.

I've marked it on my calendar, but it's a great big wait 'n' see for BostonGirl & me...

Yes, but it's too bad you're still called that and you are like what...42?
Joe in Philly
Don't be silly. He and mdphl had beer last night. No doubt passion ensued. wink
GatorJamie
Well, what do you expect, with them speaking of all things Iggle, comparing battery-avoidance strategery 'n' such...

PhillyFan
ahhhh, JIP, after a PF tailgate party...

We'll have you standing on your seat, dancing in the parking lot, laughing as hard as you can, and talking smack to anyone in your way...

and thats before you even walk in the Linc.

Kenny
rolleyes.gif Sigh! Can't believe I was left off the invitation list. Ho hum.
PhillyFan
Sorry Ken-boy... i had only thougth of people who knew something about football.

You'd probably get beat up, but hey, the more the better...

JIP said he'd paint his chest, and shave his head.
stinger85
Shouldn't he have to do it the other way around...
shave his chest and paint his head? tongue.gif

Maybe I'll start working on my Randy Moss throwback afro!!
Jim at Outsports
If this comes off, we want pictures! Stinger can borrow my digital. He may not make it back, but the camera must! smile.gif

How drunk were you when you posted this? eek!

And stinger...I promise you I am never shaving my chest!
stinger85
Jim, I have my own camera to document the event.

And JIP, I thought you had attended one of PhillyFan's tailgate parties. The number one rule is that you get so drunk that you lose all control over any decency or common sense...thus that chest is not so safe...and I notice you didn't object to painting your head?!! I'll bring my purple and black so you can do your John Randle impression!!

GOOD GOD! AT LEAST SHAVE THE BACK! SHEESH!

But no sorry, none of ya'all have attended a tailgate party. It's very hard to get the smokey joe onto the plane anymore.

Did anyone know that you CAN put a lidded smokey joe into the trunk of a car.. leave for 3 hours.. come back and it's still cookin man! and the car doesnt even blow up!
GatorJamie
JUST SO YOU KNOW...

After all this talk of tailgating and Philly stuff, I had to get a cheesesteak on the way home last night. And a hunk o' cheesecake, too.

No worries, though. After a 45-minute bike ride at 6 this morning, those calories should be burnt off, even if the cholesterol makes concrete outta my veins. wink
pittkid
Hey all,

Well, I know I'm not on here alot anymore, but I'd love to go... I guess I'd be a "Monday Night Virgin" compared to all the rest though... but I do know enough about football to get by... and hell, if GatorJamie goes, I'm there. wink

You know, there will be a limit on the number of tickets they sell per person, once individual game tickets go on sale. I'm thinking the "scottie-schmooze-Rhea" strategy would work better. wink

I started to call around and made some internet inquiries. It's going to be almost impossible to get a block of seats together. Maybe Scottie can work his magic. Another alternative is that we can get groups of tickets. I know PF will want to sit with Stinger. I'm flexible as long as JIP doesn't invite the Phillie Phanatic I should have a good time regardless of where I sit.

So -- who's in...
PhillyFan
Fist off, I think it's going to be difficult to get tickets. However, IF a few people would call and a few would get in. Even if we were over in tickets... I dont think that is such a bad thing.

That little thing called Ebay. Any ticket could easily go for 100.00 plus a seat. Hence, offsetting the costs for the rest of us.

Anyway, it's a monday night game... after 5 hours of tailgating, it wont matter who you're sitting next to anyway.

Is JIP still shaving his head? painting his body?

We need someone who has a BBQ too dont forget that, they wont let PF on a plane with a pen let alone the smokey joe.
Joe in Philly
I don't remember if they maxed out at 2 or 4 tickets per person last year. Whatever, we'd need a few people to call/go online (however they sell them this year). I should be able to do so. They still have no info at their website as to when single-game tickets go on sale, but we should get as firm a head count as possible before that time. So here's a nice bold YES! from me. wink

I would think that there might be a chance of getting more seats together by going through a ticket broker, but that would run into higher costs.
Joe in Philly
RED ALERT! Or should that be GREEN alert? wink

QUOTE
Single-game tickets for all 10 Eagles home games next season will go on sale at 10 a.m. Thursday, the team announced yesterday.

Tickets can be purchased by phone charge only through Ticketmaster at 215-336-2000. They cannot be bought in person at Lincoln Financial Field or at Ticketmaster outlets, or online.

For regular-season games, there is a limit of two games per purchase and four tickets per game. More tickets may be purchased for preseason games.
PhillyFan
JIP as in June 17th?
PhillyFan
OH MAN! THIS STINKS!

Guess we need some sort of game plan? There is a limit of 4 tickets per person.

WE need to set a game plan for getting these. Although, in a small stroke of luck, the day they chose to put these tickets on sale.. is a grand a wonderful day indeed. Hopefully, it give my dialing fingers a little luck. Even if I have to get up at the crack of dawn.

I know MD's AIM, but would need to discuss with the rest of you folks....
stinger85
so what is the game plan? Does that mean everybody has to call that one phone #?
Joe in Philly
In past years people have gotten through to Ticketmaster lines in other cities and gotten tickets. It's guaranteed that bazillions of calls will be attempted to the 215 number. So it would be helpful to get the local numbers for Ticketmaster in other cities...but you'd have to call at 10 am EDT.

I'm willing to try and get through to buy tickets.

What we need to set up is how many/which of us are going to call, and how many tickets we need. From reading the thread over it looks like we have 5 definites so far: PF and buddy, mdphl, stinger, and lil' ol' me. So if anyone else wants to definitely be in on this, we need to hear from you NOW.

Since it's not a baseball thread someone might want to alert scottie to this thread -- I don't know if he'd want to go or not, since it's football. wink
PhillyFan
what number is best to call? LIke Allentown?

Whoever can get in, they can get 4 tickets. However, I think if more tickets were purchased, thats a good money maker as i paid 165 each for last years game.
Joe in Philly
From what I remember, people called all around the country. I think Allentown might just be under the Phila. number anyway.
stinger85
I've never called a ticketmaster before. I wrote down the numbers from the Vikings and I found one for L.A. I may try calling both. Is it really as easy as saying "I want tickets to the Eagles September 13th game against the Vikings?" They can sell the tickets through another city line?

I'll set my alarm to get up before 7, but I make no promises if I go out drinking on Wed nite. I'm sure the same goes for PhillyFan.

Oh yeah, and just get best available? or is there a specific section I should try for?
PhillyFan
Well sting if you are rooting for the vikes, you should try and get a seat.. out in the parking lot, in the car... where you'll be safe.

Who else is calling? If so, what city?

Sting, the ticketmaster will not be open at 7am in la.. you'll need to call further east.
Joe in Philly
As I understand it, sometimes the operators won't let you buy out-of-town tickets but sometimes they do.

As for where the tickets will be, so many are sold to season-ticket customers that there won't be many available for the public sale. Just ask for 4 tickets and take what they offer. And if they don't have 4 in a row, we can try get separate pairs, I think.

So if you get up early, this would make 2 of us calling in and 8 tickets potentially...

Something else to think about--once we know how many tickets we're trying to get, and since we can only order by phone, once we have the number of tickets we need, how do we tell the others so that we don't buy too many extras? I don't want to have 12 tickets if only 5 of us are going.
PhillyFan
I will be calling 100%.

I spoke to the ticketmaster dude, and he told me to just like call Miami or something like that.

IF (crossing the fingers that we can even get tickets) we got more than we needed... I make the pledge to put an additional tickets onto ebay. We sell them and everyone splits the profits. These things sold out for all games in 15 min last year. There is a market for them.

Also, I know that hot babe down in DC will drive up if extra tix are available, or the true american patriot...
stinger85
Maybe I'll try the Buffalo line if they have one. God knows nobody likes to watch the Bills!!

PhillyFan, I'll back your pledge. Any extras are sold and we split the profits.

The Eagles website through nfl.com still hasn't been updated to say when single game tickets go on sale. With such short notice hopefully there are fewer callers.
PhillyFan
Ok, i know some of you have to have AIM..

aziggles
PhillyFan
I'd give you my phone number to call JIP, but last time that was done the person got all kinds of heavy breathing calls and stuff...

What about phillyrunner?

There is an article at their website. Even if there weren't, however, it's in both papers and on the sports talk (and will no doubt be on the local TV sportscasts as well).

I'll find a city to call...but if I don't call from home I won't have any AIM access (and actually, I don't think I installed it on my new computer yet...I'll have to check that out later tonight or tomorrow) -- but at work I can speed-dial easier. Decisions, decisions. wink

Oh, and it would perhaps help to make sure whatever city you call isn't putting their team's tickets on sale the same day. biggrin.gif

I think I will call boston. or providence. JIP i think you should call Miami for a spicy latin flavor.

We should have some good dialing MOJO tho. I heard June 17th is going to be a national holiday pretty soon.

Dude also said to make sure it's an eastern time zone, those are the only ones open at that time. Also, they have specialy location. You must call a main number. Sorry guys, i'm explaining cause sting is from MT, they are a bit slow.

So -- who is in -- JIP, me, PF, Stinger for sure. Phillyrunner and Scottie -- kopefully. Pittkid expressed interest. Anyone else?
PhillyFan
I just say we all call, worst case senerio is that we have too many tickets. Which we can sell. So everyone should give it a shot.

Some of us might get through, some of us might not. But like i said before, going to the Linc is not for the faint of heart. I dont not want to have to wind up defending someone who doesnt know what they are getting into.

PF gets very serious and very loud... and i dont want any BS.
phillyrunner
I just saw this posting, so I too will try calling at 10am. Hell, you can never go wrong with Eagles tix, there will always be a buyer.

Specialy location?

I still haven't decided if I'll be home or not, but in case I am, I installed the AOL IM program on this computer. Screen name is: Jeg7007
PhillyFan
Oh wow JIP... Now you'll be stalked by sting... watch out.
stinger85
I don't use AOL IM so JiP is safe. wink

If I get tickets I'll let y'all know.
Joe in Philly
Well I hardly ever open the AIM program anyway. Plus, since after two late nights I crashed this morning and ended up staying home from work, I will definitely be in work tomorrow. So I'll call from work and try to get tickets. I'll post to this thread if I get any.

So is this 4 of us who are definitely going to try and call tomorrow? That would mean a maximum of 16 tickets, perhaps. Hopefully at least 2 of us get through.
Joe in Philly
URGENT BULLETIN! biggrin.gif I GOT 4 TICKETS BY CALLING MIAMI! WOO-HOO!
PhillyFan
I am currently still on hold in Boston....

I had gotten in at 6:58 and the dude would not log into the philadelphia market....

Where are those tickets located?

Try Miami: 305-358-5885. I got right through and the automated system actually said "to purchase Phila. Eagles tickets press 1" and I was on my way!

Sec. 226 -- top of the stadium but near the 40 yard line, it looks like.
