I heard a report this morning that Troy Aikman is "99 percent sure" that he's coming out of retirmement that he will sign with the Dolphins. Did anyone else hear this? Aikman has had, what, nine concussions already?

Also heard the rumor this morning and as a dolphin fan i am hoping that is all it is -- a rumor!!! Fiedler is not the problem with that team, lets try getting a offensive line that can block for the running game!

Fiedler is awful. He has no field vision, has happy feet, not a very accurate arm and will never take a team anywhere. He's a fine September quarterback. A healthy Aikman would be an improvement.

I am not saying fiedler is going to win a super bowl by himself but the first thing that needs to be addressed in Miami is the offensive line. Putting Joe Montana behind these guys isn't going to change things -- they are far inferior to the level of other o-lines in the NFL and that is by far the first problem that needs to be addressed.

Sorry, but the first thing they need is a quarterback. A good quarterback can make a lot of offensive lines look better.

no you have that backwards - a good offensive line and a good running game makes a quarterback a lot better. SEE the 2000 baltimore ravens and trent dilfer!

You could put Fiedler behind Pittsburgh or Green Bay's line and he'd still be a relative stiff. The guy is not a championship-level QB and if I'm fixing the team that's the first area I fix. The reality is that they will fix more than one area in the offseason.

I'd have to agree with Jim. Fielder is not consistent enouugh to be a starter. He has moments of brilliance and then he'd lay an egg; and I'm not just saying that because he's on my fantasy football team either
While a running game would help the team, what they need is a guy who is going to be accurate so they don't waste Chambers who is going to be an excellent receiver for years to come.

I read the first line of this - "I heard a report this morning that Troy Aikman is "99 percent sure" that he's coming out" - and fainted. Now that I've regained consciousness, I see there's a bit more to the story.
I just saw some investment commercial where it looked like Jimmy Johnson was trying to convince Troy to get back into f'ball, but was really counseling him on money matters. Or something, I was a bit drunk at the time. Anyway, for what it's worth. Not much, I know.

I can't remember which monday night game it was, but the abc crew interviewed Jimmy Johnson during half time and Johnson made the comment that Dallas would be a much better team this year if they would not have pushed Aikman into retirement. Johnson also made the comment that Aikman has been cleared by the doctors to play?
