OK, I tried asking this a year or two ago and got few responses, so I figured I'd try it again. Do any of you guys have any stories of romantic Valentine's Day experiences? I mean romantic here, not sexual. Flying a boyfriend to Paris for the weekend counts, f-ing like animals on the sofa does not. tongue.gif

Well, as fate would have it, I have never had a boyfriend on Valentine's Day before ... until this year! (Fingers crossed ... ha ha) I don't know that we'll do anything more outlandish than having dinner out and spending the evening with one another, but to me, it's something I'm very excited about. It's the first time in my life I haven't felt left out of Valentine's Day!

G4G...in hopes of keeping your relationship good thru Monday, I'll not tell him about our mutual infatuation with Josh Gracin. smile.gif

One year, I booked a 2 night stay at the Grand Hyatt for my boyfriend and myself. I had to keep that as a secret for 3 solid months. So that Valentine's day, I called him at work and told him that some of my friends from California and are staying at room whatever in Hyatt and to meet us there. When he got inside the room, of course he found there weren't any friends but was shocked to see some of his clothes in the dresser, toiletries in the bathroom and champagne chilling in the fridge. We had dinner reservations at Union Square Cafe (which was SOOOOO hard to book). It was a romantic night, and the next morning, we were both off that Friday and stayed in bed to smooch and you know what. One of my best memories I have.

Jeffrey, that's nice and all, but if you would, please delete that damn post before my husband gets on here and reads it. I can hear it now, "Look how romantic Jeffrey is, why can't you be more like that? Huh?

J/k...that sounds great. I did something like that on his birthday once where I rented a suite at our nice downtown hotel. It was a lot of fun as well.

Well on our 5th anniversary which also happens to be valentines day. We had a commitment ceremony on the beach on Maui at sunset. My brother and his wife flew over with us which was really special.

We started the morning with a whale watching trip. The company we had booked the trip with had been trying to get a hold of us to move us to a different time but couldn't. So when we showed up the four of us got to go out on a 50 foot catamaran and watch the amazing humpback whales while sipping mimosas.

The afternoon was spent hanging out at the beach relaxing for the big event. It was an amazing ceremony. Everyone including the officiant was in tears by the time we had each completed our personalized handwritten vows.

We then moved on to Mama's fish house one of the best place to eat on Maui for one the best meals I have ever eaten. We always make it a point to go to Mama's every time we go to Maui.

2 days later My brother and his wife flew home, and we spent another full week on the island honeymooning. It was the best valentines day of my life.

Well, my Valentine's Day turned out to be wonderful. It was just dinner at his home ... he made me a delicious meal and fabulous desert, which he put out on table with red and white candles ... he's a great cook. He also surprised me with a batch of chocolate-chip cookies where the chips were red, pink, and white, all wrapped up in a big tin with bow for me to take home. We ate together and held hands and talked and laughed and enjoyed some quiet together time. It was wonderful in its simplicity.

*Sigh*
