Attended the Bucs-Skins game yesterday. . . was impressed with my Bucs victory but not impressed with the facility, especially considering FedEx Field is relatively new. We were in upper bowl and had to walk what seemed to be about 12 ramps to make it up there. Anyone heard of esculators?? Throughout the game, I never saw nor heard any other game scores, even though there were at least 8 going on. And they have the smallest replay screens I've seen since in any stadium the early 80's.
Redskin Fans were great, parking was easy and weather was beautiful. . . any Skin's fan have any insight into your less than steller stadium?
Maybe I'm just spoiled by the RayJay, an incredible facility??

There are two sets of escalators on opposite sides of FedEx Field. I'm surprised you didn't see one of them. We take them to the upper bowl every game. The line to use them can vary depending on the time, but we usually get to games about a half an hour before kickoff and only have to wait a minute or two to get to the top.
My boyfriend and I also noticed that they didn't update other team scores that often during the game. We didn't see any scores posted until the 3rd quarter. Someone must not have been on the ball. Usually the E-trade Bank sponsored screens update scores about about every ten minutes.
I agree that the big screen TVs need to be updated. I like the new large rectangle ones being put up in newer stadiums.

I went to the Bucs - Skins game a few years ago with Dave Moore's family. The "visiting team" seats were next the the last row in the stadium. I agree, for a new stadium, it wasn't very nice at all. I was expecting MUCH more but maybe we have just gotten spoiled with Raymond James Stadium. Why put the escalators on opposite sides? At Raymond James they are at every gate. The nicest feature I saw at the stadium was the fire torches at the front of the stadium. The scoreboard SUCKED and it lack the electric atmosphere of Raymond James. It was disappointing as I was born at PG General right down the road from the stadium, raised in VA and a fan of the Skins while I lived there. From what I understand, Daniel Snyder, loved Giants Stadium and basically took that as the blueprint for FedEx Field. Problem with that is Giants Stadium was built decades ago - and some of the bells and whistles of the newer stadiums was lost in the translation of FedEx Field - it's a shame. I think RFK was a much better game day experience. I've been to almost all the NFL Stadiums and nothing compares to a game at Raymond James!!!

Dan Snyder did not build what was to become FedEx Field. Jack Kent Cooke did. The stadium was not built with escaltors. They were added by Dan Snyder in the year 2000.

That's right. Then it was JKC that loved Giants Stadium. At least Snyder had the foresight to install some escalators, even if it was only 1/2 of what they should have installed.

What is all this crap about how nice a stadium is, how many escalators, or how the video boards are!!! Your there to see a damn football game!! Your not there to sip on champagne, eat caviar, watch some male cheerleader run through the endzone waving a flag (couldn't believe I saw this at the Superbowl), or, especially, be entertained by a ship in the endzone. Major props have to go to those hearty souls who watched a game at old Metropolitan Stadium in Minneapolis. I've never been there, but watching old highlights it sure looked barebones and the people were there (in the freezing cold) to see a game.
How can someone grow up a fan of one team and drop that allegience for another team. This is very baffling to me. As bad as the Raiders looked in the Superbowl and how they look now I'll be damned if I ever root for another team.

Blatino, I invite you to go to some football (ie soccer) stadiums in the North of England and I'll guarantee you'll understand the importance of creature comforts at a sporting event.

SOMEONE (Blatino) is still upset over his Super Bowl loss.....and probably the way his team is performing this season.
I grew up a Redskin fan, I still follow them, but have since MOVED to Tampa and have had SEASON TICKETS since I moved to TAMPA in 1989. Since my money and my time go to the Bucs - so does my dedication. Not that I had to explain it to a Raider fan...
Probably still bitter that Gruden came home to the other city by the bay....
PS - from the looks of the stadium in Oakland, looks like that thing could use some MAJOR updating...no wonder Al Davis is trying to get out of there (again).
