Sorry if I'm the last to know but I heard Cyd on the radio for the first time today - Great Job Cyd !!
Although I didn't appreciate Fox using the F*G word, I thought you handled the kidding from those guys really well. You were informative and weren't afraid to say what you wanted; and even added some eye candy information; it was just kool to hear you live instead of only reading
CYD RULES !

Sorry I missed it....which Fox Radio show was he on? -- was it Tony Bruno's morning show (based out of SoCal) which I occasionally listen to....any transcripts available, Cyd?
Kudos for beginning to receive the national publicity that you, Jim, and Outsports well deserve.

Thanks. I'm on Kiley & Booms every Thursday. "Cyd's Fag Five" was my idea - we're just having fun with it and don't mean any harm - please do take it that way

Fox Sports Radio's
local affiliates are listed without links, unfortunately. Some of them carry Fox Sports content only during certain hours of the day or week. Here in Boston, we don't get to hear Kiley & Booms. Why doesn't Fox stream their broadcasts over the 'Net, dammit?

He's based in California now? I'm a little shocked. He was in Philadelphia radio at various stations for a long time, left the sports station's morning show to work full-time for ESPN but then left them. As I understand it, at the time he had issues dealing with his commute to and from his suburban PA home. Maybe he moved?

Joe, Tony Bruno has been doing his morning show on Fox Radio (with his sidekick, Andrew Siciliano -- how's that for a "radio name"?) for about two years now....it's based out of SoCal but I rarely listen to it since WTEM in DC only broadcasts one hour of the show from 9AM-10AM in between "Mike and Mike" on ESPN radio (which I think is a far superior show to Bruno's which largely consists of childish humor) and Tony Kornheiser's daily 3-hour show (which is consistently excellent)....I have caught longer portions of Bruno's radio gig when I've on the road in other cities and have not been overly impressed....in case you're interested, he also appears frequently on that admoninable Fox Sports Net television show "The Best Damn Sports Show Period" which includes such notable broadcast journalism "experts" as Tom Arnold and Mike Irvin.
Anyway, just wanted to update you on Tony Bruno's whereabouts....he still mentions his native Philly roots frequently but while his "style" may be entertaining to some, after a short while he loses all credibility and sense of professionalism in my book.
Getting back to the original topic, maybe if Cyd's weekly "part-time" gig with Kiley and Booms (who formerly were a broadcast team locally on WTEM 980) works out it will evolve into its own "Outsports Radio Show" -- I know that's wishful thinking at this stage but we can still dream right?

I'm too tired right now to do a Google search, but isn't there supposed to be an all-gay cable channel started up by Viacom and others? That would be the perfect niche for an Outsports segment, say as filler between shows or as part of any gay news items they might have.

It hasn't happened yet...and the Canadian all-gay channel, I understand, is having some money problems. Whoever wants to start an all-gay network here in the USA better have deep pockets and a deep commitment.
Tony Bruno should never be taken too seriously. It sounds like his current show is not too different from the WIP (Phila.) format. It's basically sports talk except it's not the typical X-and-O's, "so-and-so hit .278 with runners in scoring position on Fridays on artifical turf" type of show. They talk about whatever's on their minds, whether sports or not--whatever's in the papers, whatever local or national controversy is getting attention, etc. (Bruno is correct when he states that anyone born and raised in the Phila. area who is now a Cowboys fan is the victim of bad parenting. )
