A painful day for quarterbacks of the Pennsylvania teams. The Steelers' Tommy Maddox was hit and went down for a long time, then was put on a stretcher and taken off in an ambulance. It didn't look from the replay I saw that it was that bad of a hit, but he went down and never moved. In the game, Pittsburgh looked pretty awful to that point. They rallied to make it close but still lost to Tennessee. Hopefully Maddox will be okay.
And it turns out that Donovan McNabb's ankle is broken and he might miss the rest of the regular season! AAAAAAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIEEEEEEEEE!!! Despite the fact that he couldn't run at all, he was 20-for-25 for 255 yards and 4 touchdowns. The offensive line stood tall and protected him, and opened up room for the running game. It was nice to see the Eagles offense rolling again, but now they'll have to rely on Koy Detmer...
Has the latest anointed favorite, the Packers, gone bust as well? How in the world do they lose to the Vikings? And how do the Colts look so awful on offense most of the day this week, after the way they played last week? Is there any team in this league that can be consistent, for crying out loud?

I am sad to see McNabb out for probably the rest of the regular season. I hope the rest of the Eagles step it up to help Koy win some games.
As far as good teams losing to bad and inconsistency, that is to be expected. A team hardly ever stays focused for all 16 games during the year. The letdown most often takes place against the weaker teams that are taken for granted. There are so many intangibles that come into play week to week that several upsets a week are a given.

Keeping a good thought for Tommy Maddox. He is one of the best stories of the year so far. His health is the most important thing, but this opens the door for the Browns who are now just 1/2 game out. Kordell's going to have to step up. And the league is always more fun with Donovan McNabb playing. I think this really hurts their playoff chances. Giants are only 1 game out and have an easier schedule. But jeez, how much do the Cardinals suck? McNabb breaks his ankle early in the game and they still romp!
I don't know what's more baffling-the Vikes winning or the Pack losing. Either way you look at it, a stunner. The Dolphins offense with Lucas at the helm finally clicks and its against the Ravens??? No letdown for the Jets as they roll. And the Chiefs D holds the Bills to 16 points in their very important win. Seriously, only 2 teams in the AFC are surely out of any race-the Bengals and Texans. What a wacky year!!!

George, you don't have to sound so Against the Browns getting close !
I wish the best for Tommy, but I'm sure Kordell will do okay for them

Why on earth do the 49ers continue to use that bum kicker Cortez??? Missed the game-winning field goal in OT! Not that the other kicker Jeff Chandler would be any improvement....

The Green Bay lose to the Viks may have an easy explanation: motivation of desperation; With the fight for second place in the division and maybe playoff position (hopes?) at stake, the Lions and Viks are the most motivated to bring Green Bay down to earth.
FLASH!! McNabb may have a wieght problem. The true weights of nfl players must be a secret more closely guarded than the location of OBL. Just from personal observations, Donovan is carrying more of a load than just the offense of the iggles. It may have contributed to his injury.
Take it from me, wieght control takes a lot more discipline than just working out, especially if you're cursed with bad genes and decades of bad eating habits.

Sportinglife, I noticed a few weeks ago that McNabb looks like he weighs much more than his listed weight.

Oh and by the way, the Eagles won't win another game this season.

Not even Seattle? Even with Koy Detmer they might manage that one.

Please tell me you're joking or being sarcastic or something. Otherwise, this is perhaps the most absurd statement ever posted on this board--including anything related to politics.

Yes Joe, the Eagles are just going to keep on winning with Koy Detmer. Yeah, right.
Koy Detmer makes the Redskins quarterbacks look like Hall of Famers.

Sure. Just like the Redskins were going to make the playoffs last year--or this year, for that matter.

I think we should consider an Outsports version of Celebrity Boxing at the convention.
