Actually, I have a cold. One of the circles of hell has to be a head cold while pregnant. You can't take ANYTHING.

So you just sit there, suffering, while needing to pee every 20 minutes. ugh.
BUT, here are my Week 3 predictions:
Atlanta at Buffalo – Buffalo (Tough to call, since they both have wack-a-doodle QBs who can make love to you or just f*ck you.)
Carolina at Miami – Carolina (Welcome back to earth Miami)
Cincinnati at Chicago – Bengals (It’s one thing to beat the Lions. Now they are playing an NFL caliber team)
Cleveland at Indianapolis – Indy (Peyton is going to come out blazing after that Harrington like performance last week)
Jacksonville at N.Y. Jets – Jacksonville (Ooooh the Jets beat Miami . . . oooooooh are you scared . . . I didn’t think so.)
New Orleans at Minnesota – New Orleans (and Mike Tice will leave the stadium disguised as a woman.)
Oakland at Philadelphia – Philly (though Randy isn’t going to make it easy since he wants to be the biggest son of a bitch WR of the year.)
Tampa Bay at Green Bay –Tampa (Brett Favre will begin to look worse and worse, possibly coming out in the 4th quarter with a walker. What is up with the gray? Yikes! My fantasy is fading!)
Tennessee at St. Louis – St. Louis (Tennessee can’t be lucky two weeks in a row. Though it IS Mike Sherman)
Arizona at Seattle – Arizona (That bandwagon is still running on three wheels. And Seattle is always able to find a way to lose.)
Dallas at San Francisco – Dallas (They better win, or Parcells will take their children and wives away.)
New England at Pittsburgh – Pittsburgh (The steel curtain has their number. And Bellicheck was WAAAAY to whiney this week for karma to not bite him in the ass.)
N.Y. Giants at San Diego – San Diego (and Eli will get a fish taco thrown at him.)
Kansas City at Denver – Kansas City (and Crayola will create a new shade of purple-red called “Shanahan face”.)
What say the rest of you?
stinger85
Sep 22 2005, 09:38 PM
ML, when's your due date?
And my week 3 preview:
Atlanta @ Buffalo - Buffalo, good linebackers and a quick defense shut down Vick if he plays. If not, it's a bigger blow out.
Carolina @ Miami - Carolina, they won't be affected by the heat like Denver was and they have a better defense and offense.
Cincy @ Chicago - Cincy, Palmer & Co. are on a tear. They face a tough Bears defense so I think it will be close.
Cleveland @ Indy - Indy, Who would want to play the Colts after two offensively challenged games. They will come out to make a statement.
Jacksonville @ Jets - Jags, tough one here, I give the nod to the Jags with Martin questionable to play.
New Orleans @ Minn - Vikes, the only thing tougher than playing an away game on Monday night followed by an away game on Sunday is 3 consecutive away games. The Saints have to be exhausted physically and mentally.
Oakland @ Philly - Oakland, going with the SI jinx. And Randy's Revenge.
Tampa Bay @ Green Bay - Green Bay, wins the Battle of the Bays by eliminating the run.
Tennessee @ St. Louis - Rams, Steven Jackson should have a Willie Parker-esque performance. I don't think the Titans will do well on the road this year.
Arizona @ Seattle - Seattle, Alexander will finally have a multiple TD game and the Cardinals are still young so they will struggle on the road.
Dallas @ San Francisco - Dallas, The Dallas D will do it's part again and this time Parcells won't keep the game close enough to lose.
New England @ Pitt - Pitt, Pitt loves the power running game and that's New England's biggest weakness.
NY Giants @ San Diego - San Diego, will everybody but NY be rooting against Eli?
K.C. @ Denver - K.C., Denver sucks and K.C. is playing solid football.

"AFC title rematch highlights Week 3
By John Clayton
ESPN.com
In Week 8 last year, the Steelers blindsided the Patriots.
Then 6-0 and riding a 21-game winning streak, the Patriots entered Heinz Field and were ambushed. They fell behind 21-3 in the first quarter and never recovered, losing 34-20. The Steelers blitzed. Ben Roethlisberger was unstoppable. The Patriots couldn't stop the running game. The Steelers had everything.
But the Patriots are patient and smart, and they got the last laugh. They had time to study what the Steelers did and beat them in the AFC title game in Pittsburgh for the second time in four years en route to their third Super Bowl victory.
The Patriots visit the Steelers on Sunday in one of the top games of the season. But this time, it's the Steelers who have the better chance to adjust. Of the two teams entering Sunday's game, the Steelers are on more solid ground. While the Patriots are the defending Super Bowl champions, there are more questions about this Patriots team than the one that beat the Steelers in the championship game..."
The Full Story I think he is right on the money.
IMHO: This should be the best game of the week.

Atlanta at Buffalo – Low scoring game here, Atlanta needs the win, JP Losman is absolutely horrible. Take Atlanta.
Carolina at Miami – Low scoring game here, Carolina will win. Ricky Williams watch starts as Ronnie Brown continues to struggle.
Cincinnati at Chicago – Cincinnati continues to prove it’s the real deal. Blowout city.
Cleveland at Indianapolis – This will be ugly. Both teams have ugly uni’s, the Colts won’t sell the game out as usual, but will win.
Jacksonville at N.Y. Jets – Fat Albert vs Weak-armed Pennington. Go with Fat Albert.
New Orleans at Minnesota – Mike Tice got a vote of confidence this week. Not a good sign. 0-3 for the Vikings. Burleson gets his 100 – in stitches.
Oakland at Philadelphia – SI Cover Jinx. Either the team loses or a key player (McNabb, Westbrook, T.O.??) gets injured.
Tampa Bay at Green Bay – Bay of Pigs. Tampa wins and Kenny and Puker blow up oil rigs off the Florida coastline celebrating.
Tennessee at St. Louis – Boos reign down on sMartz after a loss at home to the lowly Titans.
Arizona at Seattle – In the tradition of Cardinal football, they get blown away. Denny Green once again quoted as saying “We can do what we want to do” and continues to alienate fans with his arrogance.
Dallas at San Francisco – Dallas wins. San Francisco swallows.
New England at Pittsburgh – New England lose two in a row? I think not. Primante Brothers sandwiches suck.
N.Y. Giants at San Diego – The Chargers came into the season really overrated. Season is over if the lose. They run the ball down the Giants throat and squeak one out.
Kansas City at Denver – Vermeil always loses at Denver. If the Chiefs win they take control of the division in Week 3. Too many injuries for the Chiefs to overcome in a tough environment. Entire stadium starts the ABC broadcast screaming “Are you ready for some football?”

In order for the Vikes to win this weekend, Culpepper has to get the ball to Wiggins. Wiggins should end up with 6 catches for 85 yards and 2 TDs. And hopefully Culpepper ends with about 50 rushing yards and shows defenses he's willing to run again.

Eagles-Raiders begins like this. Opening kickoff: Akers goes down in pain. Flag. Offsides-kicking team. Akers kicks again. Goes down in pain again. Flag. Offsides-kicking team. They send in their tight end/long snapper Mike Bartrum to kick. He kicks it out of bounds. Flag. Raiders get the ball at the 50. First play - flag. Four plays, four Eagles penalties.
It's a miracle they're losing only 10-6 at the half.

Not only is Akers hurt but you can just tell McNabb has been playing hurt the way he is passing. One wonders if he should come out to avoid getting hurt even more.
He did connect with T.O in the endzone by gutting it out, and now they are using Akers on extra points only.

Mike Tice may be earning a stay of execution as the Vikes lead 24-9. Culpepper is having a terrific game so far with 3 TDs and 0 INTs.
But what's up with the Colts offense? They've only been able to put up 13 points on Cleveland. Peyton is 19/23 for 228 and Edge has 102 yards rushing but have only 1 TD vs. the Browns?

Great ending to the Jags-Jets game! Jimmy Smith made a great play to get in the end zone in OT. Chad Pennington's noodle arm doesn't help matters much.
Indy finished with just 13 points. As they say, a win is a win, but there has to be some concern about the anemic offense.
And how about Miami beating Carolina?
And the Eagles just barely escape with a FG with :09 to go.

Stupid play by the Raiders KR on the ensuing. After getting up around the 40 instead of going down and giving Collins one chance to rip one to the end zone, he just tried to run around and create something, running out the clock.

Good question. I never thought the Colts would be sitting 3-0 averging 15 pts a game. At least we're winning but unless the offense gets on track, we're gonna lose to a team we should beat. On the positive side, Edge is looking great and the defense is definitely better although they didn't look as sharp this week as last. But they are keeping the opponents out of the end zone, even if we haven't faced an explosive offense yet.
Also, Manning and Harrison hooked up for 53 yards, breaking most yards passing between the QB and receiver. I'd rather see wins than breaking records, but worth pointing out.

The Vikes finally get into the win column 33-16. No turnovers for Minnesota and they got 4 takeaways. Maybe they're starting to turn the corner, or at least they've put on the turn signal letting us know they they will be turning soon!
All the more impressive is that they did it with little contribution from Bennett and none from Burleson. Tice finally used #1 pick Troy Williamson.

E-A-G-L-E-S....EAGLES!!! Fly Eagles Fly...On The Road To Victory!! How pathetic that the Oakland Raiders couldn't take advantage of an injured QB, an injured kicker, and excellent field position most of the game. All that and they still come away losers. Thats Philly having the heart of a champion and going to the reserves when they are far less than 100%. The Eagles will sign a kicker this week but its McNabb that I'm worried about. I heard someone say he may have an athletic hernea and that can be CAREER threatening, not just a few games threatening. But, a win is a win and they STILL move on not playing their best. I think this game showed exactly how piss poor the Raiders are.

Dirk Johnson had surgery for a sports hernia in the offseason and he returned for the season opener. I don't see where it's career-threatening unless it's much much more severe -- and who said McNabb has that? Is this speculation from a reporter?
Right now I'm more worried about Akers. He clearly shouldn't have been kicking today. If they don't sit him out completely for at least a game he'll have problems all year.
