The game's stopped because "a foreign substance was sprayed behind the Eagles bench"????

Okay....now they've started again. Apparently there was a fight and police used pepper spray on the combatants.

But didn't your mind think of something else?

At least there's sanity ON the field!

"Insanity in DC?" I'm sure there is, but doesn't this belong in the "Politics and Religion" forum?

Hey Joe -- let's get it right -- the game wasn't in D.C. -- it was in Prince George's County, MD (I have to defend my town!). And the PG County police have a long history of overreaction (among other things) -- what an embarrassment ...

The media here in town, btw, are billing the loss as the worst in the Dan Snyder era -- everyone was believing the Spurrier hype. (here's a link, btw to a Wash. Post profile of Danny-boy.

Worst loss in the Snyder era? But...but...there've been so many....

Last night was a sumptuous meal...satisfying from beginning to end!

Aaaahhh, Daniel Snyder's just a nice Jewish boy. With ADD. And insecure as all hell. Not a trashing story about him--it was a good profile. Thanks for the link.

I was watching the Angels v. A's last night so I only saw a bit of the game. I KNEW Joe in Skins Country would be happy. Until the Redskins get a legitimate QB, they're not going to be a real factor I don't think.

I'm a nice Jewish boy with ADD. When do I get my football team?

I'll never forget the game in 1991, I believe, when Florida came to Starkville, Mississippi, to play my beloved Bulldogs. Shane Matthews was the leading Heisman candidate, and we ruined it for him that October night. I don't think he's ever been the same since.

Now the incident is being blamed on Philadelphia fans at FedEx.

They make convenient scapegoats: " ... it was probably unwise of the Redskins to open the parking lots at 3 p.m., as the team had for security and traffic reasons. It just gave the Eagles fans six hours to get rowdy. We showed up at 5:30, and by the time we got there, there was a sea of green taking over a section of the parking, and they were horrible.

Eagles fans have notoriously misbehaved in their home stadium. Several years ago, in response to hooligans in the stands, the city of Philadelphia set up a court inside Veterans Stadium to process arrested rowdies on site."

Don't forget the actions of MD fans for college basketball. Throwing glass bottles at the opponents fans, rioting (win or lose). I'm guessing that this vehemence flows over into pro football as well. I'm sure neither side was really without blame on this one.

There's a shocker.

You forgot something in the paragraph you quoted...

Funny, I was just reading that article and was going to post it here. I should have known someone would beat me to the punch.

The comment about teh Maryland people at basketball is so true. Look at the way they rioted last year. I hope they never win again. (a championship that is).

However, teh funniest thing to me in that article was the quote of how "It was like Dante's Inferno." Excuse me? I wonder just which circle of Hell he was on. Talk about a really messed up image. But at least he'd heard of it.. that's something.

Correct me if I'm wrong ... but don't the Philadelphia Eagles have a history of beating the R*dsk*ns like a big ol' bass drum ... even going back to the allegedly great Joe Gibbs era Skins teams and mediocre Rich Kotite era Eagles.

From 1981 through the first of the two meetings in 1992 Washington won 17 of 23 (including one playoff game). Then the Eagles had an 8-game win streak. From 1996 to 2001 they've split the 2 games each year.
