In his own unique way:

Shockey Story
Jim Allen
It's all a conspiracy, you see:
QUOTE
Everybody is trying to take a shot at me,\" said Shockey, whose 11 catches were one more than he had in the first three games. \"Hey, if they make a good play against me, they feel they have done something in the game. It doesn't matter to me. I just try to help the team win in any way.\"
Inflated ego, much?
Joe in Philly
Okay, I'm going to defend this part:

QUOTE
criticizing fans who left the stadium with six minutes to play and the Dolphins ahead 16-10.
If you're going to a game in any sport, you should block out enough time in your schedule for getting to the game, watching the game and getting home afterwards. If you can't block out enough time to sit through the whole game, because you don't like sitting in traffic, DON'T GO. Especially those of you who are in the hard-to-obtain expensive seats. Leave the tickets for people who want to see the whole game.

I heard someone say that some people left because of the approach of Yom Kippur. This makes some sense - though I've never been to a game at Giants Stadium, with the time needed to get out the parking lots after a sold-out game, plus the driving time to outlying suburbs, this could have some truth to it.

If fans are going to leave a football game early because of a need to observe a religious holiday, why buy those tickets in the first place? I think Shockey was on point with THIS particular comment.

They bought the tickets, they can leave whenever they want.

(Mr. Shockey should concern himself with not dropping passes in the end zone and hope that those same fans don't ask for refunds.)
