As Usual...

This is the test week... good running team is coming into the Linc, can the birds slow down that running game. Yeah, Tiki ran well this last week, but he always runs well on the bird. THIS will be the test to see if JJ has really plugged enough holes by changing up the LB's.

And oh yeah, let's not try to puke by halftime of the upcoming "we love Farve" fest....
Joe in Philly
My key for the rest of the regular season: health. Can't have any more of Westbrook getting hurt, among others.
PhillyFan
JIP, a team can't play that way.

A team gets banged up and rusty if they start playing that way. If you are up at the end of the game pull the starters. The Eagles have to try and get home field. They have to work on their run game. They have to work on their Run D. They have to get their LB's in place for a playoff run.
At the end of the year the birds need to be fine tuned. Injuries are going to happen, they always do.
GatorJamie
...and Dan Snyder is a little b%tch.

Dennis Green is undoubtably making the dumbest moves of the year. First, he hands the ball to Josh McCown, declaring he is a "potential Brett Favre" in terms of talent, but at the same time restricts the type of plays he is allowed to run (to protect him from creating too many turnovers). Still, the Cardinals had progressed farther than even the most loyal handfull of Cardinal fans could have imagined. Then after putting uyp two straight wins, Green dumps McCown in favor of former Tampa trash, Shaun King. King then goes out and stinks up two straight games, where the Cardinals aren't even competitive - fans are booing King unmercilessly beginning with the third play of this past week's game. Now Green has decided to bench King... but not in favor of McCown, but in favor of 7th round draft pick John Navarre...on the road for that matter! This team, like every team in the NFC with the exception of San Francisco and Washington, had a legitimate shot for making the playoffs and dumbass Green has turned the new Cardinals back into the same old Cardinals. I really feel for my friends who have had season tickets in that God awful stadium for 15 years, hoping that this team ever makes something of itself.
PhillyFan
Boy that is making my cards pick look even worse... thank MN castoff coach.
coyoteugly
The big game this week is SD/Denver and it's big for a couple of reasons. Yeah, this is the Chargers shot at proving themselves. They can take a nice lead over Denver and control their own destiny the rest of the year. But it's big in another sense - How many fans will show up and support their team this Sunday in SD? The place should be sold out, but will it be? And if not, is this a precursor for a move up the freeway to LA? Don't look now, but there are several teams eyeing that market if they don't get things sorted out at home with stadium improvements - San Diego, New Orleans, maybe Minnesota, maybe even Kansas City down the road (although it's likely another team will get there before the Chiefs are free'd up to "possibly" move).

Lastly, is there any doubt that Marty is a great coach? He has turned around teams and made them competitive in every city where he has coached - including hapless PCC-ville. He is Coach of the Year.

Drew Brees is undoubtably Comeback Player of the Year, and at his current rate one could make a strong arguement for Antonio Gates as an MVP candidate.

They need to be fine tuned, but they need a healthy Westbrook, TO, McNabb, etc. or they risk it all going to hell just like the last two years.

Dennis Green must be insane the way he's screwing around with his QB's.
PhillyFan
Should the birds get HFA in the playoffs we can talk about resting the players, until then it's wide open brutha. THE LAST THING the eagles could do is rest their players unless they are in a blowbout. If we were in week 15-16 i'd agree, but until then... f**k green bay.

Doesnt Fat Ass become the winningest cost in Eagle history with a win on sunday?
PhillyFan
Dear Sting,

Baby doll, take care of whatever team the vikes got on the schedule, and those birds will kick the shit out of Farvre and his swallowers in the media at da Linc.

Love

PF
Joe in Philly
I don't want them to rest anyone now. I just don't want injuries.

Reid is now tied with Greasy Neale for most wins (combined regular and postseason) by an Eagles coach...and his 4 division titles is more than every other Eagles coach COMBINED.

MEANS NOTHING...

Vermeil took them to the supe...

Didnt Neil take them to the NFL champ?
stinger85
Dear PF,

The vikes will take care of their schedule and see you back in Philly to take your Superbowl trip away.

I really should have puked at the stadium to mark my territory for when the Vikes came back. Or did I puke?

Love,
Sting
Joe in Philly
Dear Sting,

No, you did not puke at the Linc. Your team sort of took care of that for you.

Love,
JIP
PhillyFan
Dear Stingray,

If you count getting burned by PF for a TD in the middle of the street, piss ass drunk... Yes, you puked.

Tootles..

PF.
stinger85
Dear PF,

You couldn't score on me even if I was puking drunk!! ...that goes for on and off the field!!

Love,
Sting
coyoteugly
Dear Sting,

Rumor has it you busted a heel trying to cover PF on a fly pattern. Drag and man-to-man coverage do not mix.

Love,

CU
stinger85
Dear CU,

A true Diva knows how to strut even with a busted heel. Regardless of what I wear, I am unstoppable.

I'll send you pictures from the playoffs. Sorry you couldn't make it this year.

Wish you could be there,
Sting

Somewhere on here there are pictures of the Sting/GeorgeEaglesFan vs. PF/mdphl match in the Vet parking lot. I thought Sting looked cute in his heels.

LOL - my marriage is MUCH healthier if I don't ask BG to go to or to watch football games. She HATES sports.

As far as BoomerSooner -- she's a hottie, but then again, so is her wife. wink

whoa JIP, you really got in some trouble there..

Anyone know if Green is going to go for the Pack? Wonder how the Favre love fest is going to go this weekend?
Joe in Philly
Dear TP (a name appropriate to your posts),

Bring it on.

Love,
JIP

P.S. Tell PF that according to this article Sherman expects Green to play on Sunday.
PhillyFan
I usually try to stay on topic for the most part.. so i dont think MIB/TP/WM1865/verinas would call me out...

Tally ho.

GB's D will be VERY suspect vs the passing game.. they do have Al "Holding on the d" Harris.
stinger85
It's that time again...

Sting's weekly predictions: Moss will get 2 TDs and 100 yards receiving, O. Smith will get 150 total yards but Mo will get the RB TD, Burleson will get 60 yards, Favre will hookup with J. Walker for 2 TDs in Philly but lose the game because he'll be getting drilled all game long and he hates getting hit. Both Atlanta and Pitt will have let down games this week and KC will finally end their 4 game losing streak.

You tell him mr ex...
PhillyFan
So I've been paying a litle more attention to the ATL group who is 9-2.

I say Fret Not. Here is why,

-They just are not beating anyone the way they should be. I mean going out and beating them. Not a lucky bounce, or a last second win.

-They rely on their TE for their passing game too much.

-Their running game consists of their QB.

-They play in a dome, get them out of their dome.. they are dead.
stinger85
QUOTE
PhillyFan:

That's what Green Bay thought a couple years ago. Michael Vick brings a level of unpredictability to each game. I think they'd actually matchup up really well against the Eagles. Angelo Hall(?) could matchup against TO, and they have Dunn and Duckett to run on the Eagles. And Vick can scramble to avoid JJ's blitzes.
PhillyFan
No you are wrong and here is why...

This is what JJ does best... takes something away, and that will be Vick. He will make the other players on the team beat them.

What they did against GB in the playoffs were a fluke. GB was completely banged up going into that game. The only thing they had going for them was favre and his outdoor cold record. Which is you saw MNF, they can only now say regular season.

Right now, GB is the only team in the conf that would scare me if i were the birds. That includes the vikes.
coyoteugly
