ESPN / ESPN 2 are covering Rounds 1-7 of the NFL Draft this weekend. Will you watch?

I was prompted to post the poll after a conversation with a few guys in the locker room this a.m.
One guy: "I can't wait for this weekend! The NFL draft is on and I LOVE football -- I'll be spending the entire time in front of the TV"
Well, being polite, I said nothing ... sorry, but what a waste of time.
First of all, I can't believe the ESPN / ESPN 2 are even putting it on TV again -- aren't there real sporting events going on -- baseball ... soccer ... ?
Second, I can't believe that people actually show up at Madison Square Garden to watch it LIVE! I guess nothing else is happening in NYC either?
Third, I wouldn't waste two entire days like that -- granted the weather here in DC is supposed to be crappy ... so catch up on movies, read a book.
I myself will check in from time to time and see which QBs are going where, who the Pack picked, where some Badgers are ending up ... but that's it ... the rest can wait until I read the Post on the Milwaukee Journal on-line the next day.

You have to be ultra-obsessed with football to sit and watch the draft even through the first round, let alone the whole thing. The few times I've turned it on it's just a monumental gab-fest with a bunch of blowhards. It's unwatchable.

Though my interest has waned in recent years, I still have the draft on while I do stuff around the house. Won't be able to this year though as its opening weekend for softball.

Another reason not to watch: there's speculation that the Eagles will use their first-round draft pick on a tight end from RUTGERS! The ratings of the players in the paper today (which, of course, is only speculation) indicated he should really be drafted in the second or even third round.

Maybe they're searching for their very own Jeremy Shockey.
You heard it here. Willis McGahee goes to New England.

Are you kidding?
I LOOOOOOOVE the NFL Draft.
I remember when I was in high school the draft was a weekday event. I'd have to start displaying my "illness" the night before so I could stay home and see it.
Fifteen minutes for each pick in the first round is too long, though.

I'll second that! With all the scouts and draftniks, they should be able to pick quicker.
And there also isn't as much drama anymore. I don't remember knowing definitively who the #1 pick was going to be ahead of time like we do now. Sure you had speculation, but now the #1 pick is usually always SIGNED before the draft. Smart for the team making the pick, but bad theater.

The first draft deal is being reported by ESPN.com. According to them, the Bears have given up their #4 to the Jets in exchange their two first rounders, #13 and #22. The Jets have alot of holes to fill. If either of the top receivers (Charles Rogers or Andre Johnson)is available, which is doubtful, the Jets couldn't pass thme up. But they're also getting old on the defensive side.
