PhillyFan -- Sapp did make the Pro Bowl.
Let him have the Pro Bowl -- it'll be the only post season game he'll play in! Yes!
btw -- Packers on the list: Brett Favre, Ahman Green and Marco Rivera -- don't know if any of them will bother to show up in Hawaii.

I love Brett Favre and all but this hasn't been a Pro Bowl season for him.

Considering they pick three QBs from the NFC (right??) -- McNabb and Culpepper deservedly being the other two -- Favre kinda gets the third spot by default. He's coming on strong lately and he's definitely better than Quincy Carter or Matt Hasselbeck -- I don't think any other NFC QB comes close.

Yeah I guess there is kind of a dearth of quality QBing in the NFC. But what about Michael Vick. I mean the ESPN announcing bozos were ready to hand him the MVP award after that Sunday night win over Carolina!

wink
But man the competetion will be hot in the AFC: Brady, Manning, McNair (who will undoubtedly not go so he recuperate), Green, Kitna could all have a case made for them.

Eight Chiefs made it. Woo Hoo!
Quarterback Trent Green, running back Priest Holmes, fullback Tony Richardson, tight end Tony Gonzalez, kick returner Dante Hall, tackle Willie Roaf, guard Will Shields and safety Jerome Woods.
So which AFC QB didn'tb get named - My guess is that it's Brady! I'm sure Manning and McNair were locks.

Yeah no Brady, though I'm sure he'll be an alternate when McNair bows out. He and Manning are the other two AFC QBs. But I thought the teams were being announced on ESPN's selection show tonight.
Pats and Eagles only got 2 players each. Kind of a hosing.

Here's the biggest joke: Larry Allen of the Cowboys was named to his ninth Pro Bowl.

The Pro Bowl is always a joke. I never bother watching it. I don't care who makes it or doesn't make it.

Pats got hosed, but that's ok. The Dolphins, for example, placed more players on the squad than the Pats, yet the Marine Mammals will be watching the playoffs from the same place I will. That's what really counts. The Pro Bowl game itself is a joke. The trip to Hawaii is nice, but let's be real. Even guys making the league minimum can afford an annual Hawaiian vacation in hihg style, if they want it. And let's not forget what happened to the Pats rookie running back Robert Edwards in the 90's when he made it . . . frak injury in a required appearance in a "sand scrimmage," career over.

Most all star games are a joke. I never thought of the Pro Bowl as the NBA all star game, though. You're not kidding, Skiguy, the Pats got hosed. But they've been getting hosed all season long. Sucks for me, a fan, but will just piss off the Pats even more as a team. The Jets are about to again experience Pats team spirit. Eight Chiefs and Ravens!? Give me a break. No Brady, Bruschi, Harrison? It's not just the Pats, though, who got boned. How about LaDainian Tomlinson? What's up with that? Ah, hum bug!

Obviously Tomlinson is a great back and a strong case can be made for him, but which AFC back do you take off-Jamal Lewis, Clinton Portis or Priest Holmes? They only take 3 and somebody's going to get overlooked.

George, you just said exactly what I did earlier tonight. Tomlinson not being named to the Pro Bowl is not an oversight. There are just some damn good RB's in the AFC and if he went ahead of any of 3 that made it, then that would have been the joke.

You take anyone of the three off and add Tomlinson. None of them have a better argument for making the team. They all have equally good arguments.
Then the one that was replaced would have the argument for being snubbed.

Two Eagles is on the mark. They have four players who have a solid shot at the Pro Bowl. Two of them made it, Dawkins was injured, and Akers got overshadowed by Jeff Wilkins this year by not getting enough attempts. It did suck that two Eagles won fan votes and didn't get in though.

Here are total yards from scrimmage and total TD's.
Jamal Lewis 1918 yds 11 TDs
Clinton Portis 1905 yds 14 TDs
Priest Holmes 1949 yds 22 TDs
LaDainian Tomlinson 2011 yds 13 TDs
Looking at the numbers, The Priest is a no-brainer (plus he's cute). One could argue for the other 3. Could it be that San Deigo's dismal season affected Tomlinson's votes? Or could it be that we can recall the other 2 Pro Bowlers having single Sunday stellar performances this year, i.e., Lewis' 295 rushing yard performance vs CLE and Portis' 5 TD's vs KC?
