Condoleezza (two z's) Rice is far and away the smartest person in that administration. I know whichever listowner it was who went to that junior college out there in California and took a course from her can verify her smarts.
She could be the first black president. Or the first woman president. Or the first black, woman president.

Condi Rice has enough brains. looks, political saavy and whatever else she needs to be "the first.." just about anything. Very few people in the administration commands as much respect as she does. However, she also has very strong opinions and has clashed with certain key figures, including (surprisingly) Colin Powell. Mostly on matters of foreign policy.

Clashing with people like Colin Powell on matters of opinion does not necessarily hurt ones career. If you do it with respect for the other side, for yourself and for the process, you will more than likely be rewarded for it. I have heard no indication that Rice is difficult to work with or overly stubborn.
