A sincere and well-deserved congratulations to the Rice Owls for winning the 2003 College World Series, and for bringing home the first national championship in any sport to the Rice campus. Their pitcher Humber was incredible, pitching a complete-game, and allowing only 5 hits. The 14-2 final score marks the largest margin of victory in CWS history. And to top it off, it was Rice Athletic Director Bobby May's 60th Birthday. You just can't get much better than that.

This Texas Longhorn gives a Hook 'Em to the Rice Owls. Congratulations!

Pretty impressive! Go Rice University!

Being a former Houston resident, I am so so so proud of Rice University. And they beat UT to do it so that makes it so much sweeter. Anytime any school in Texas takes UT or A&M down, I like it.

RICE CHAMPIONS

Congrats Rice- First ever Championship.

BTW: First Baseman Stansberry is lifting Justin Ruchti (Mariner draft pick) after getting the last put out. The Pitcher Phillip Umber is jumping on Ruchti's back. I would do the same thing. Ruchti is one hot catcher. 6'2" 200

There were some terribly attractive guys playing on these two teams. I felt really bad for the Stanford starting pitcher who completely f&$*ed everything up in the first inning and put his team in a hole from which they had little chance of recovering. I only saw the first couple of innings, but wow that first one was painful. I think the kid's just a freshman, though, so he should get over it.

Some of you may have already seen this pic of two Stanford players consoling each other:

\"I LOVE you, man!\"

I watched the Rice Owls for all their hotties(I think every player was hot in some way or another), but in particular their studly catcher, Justin Ruchti. This guy has one of the most beautiful faces around, and I could just melt in those crystal blue eyes of his. Graduating magna cum laude is pretty amazing as well, so he isn't a dumb jock by any means!! Oh, and I did I say I think he will be a pretty good major leaguer also!! biggrin.gif Stanford had some hotties as well, but Rice had more than any other team at the College World Series. It must be that Gulf of Mexico water down there in Houston(about 90% of the players were from the Houston metro area)!!

Those two Cardinal players aren't "consoling each other" The arm draped around the shoulder, the other hand holding the other guys hand in his lap. Hell! They're talkig about what to do after dinner and a movie.

"Maybe a little cuddly wuddly on the couch.... I love spooning on the couch" "Yeah.. me too." biggrin.gif

The usual taunt of "that's alright, that's OK, you're going to work for us someday" doesn't work in the case of Stanford and Rice. Which has the higher SAT's?

Well, Stanford isn't too far from San Francisco, is it!! Maybe now that school is out and the season is over, they can check out the city by the bay.......as a couple!! biggrin.gif
