He's the only Butch in the club house with Jeff Gathiassssssssss...yessssssss... he's a queeny little bitch. GO TO!

William Green will have 100 yards, but Lee Suggs will get the TDs as the Browns level the Eagles.

And...even hurt Moss will record 100 yards receiving and a TD. Moore will gain another 200 total yards and finally score. And Campbell is due to catch another 40 yard bomb soon.

ps: i think this thread should be renamed Phoenix Phestivus. wink
mdphl
A certain Eagles fan will be in Phoenix this weekend -- so perhaps we can have some Eagles watching festivities -- or would that jinx things?
PhillyFan
Thats funny a certain Vikes fan from LA will also be here........ JIP will be soooo jealous.

Could this have been started any earlier?

I would have sworn the NYJ vs NE would be the biggest topic of Week 7. frown

You won't be a third wheel. Those two will either manage to sneak away for their "private" moments, or they'll invite you to join them...and then watch Sportscenter and go to bed. biggrin.gif

Theo....the Jets-Patriots ought to be the most discussed game, but where are all the football fans? Most of them aren't discussing much here.

ummm, Parking Lot Bowl II should be the topic of week 7. If GVF can't make it I can have my girlfriend QB. She can't throw the deep ball like GVF but I still don't think that would matter.

Then perhaps you should try and discuss it, personally... cleveland philly float my boat a bit more... oh yeah good luck getting anyone to discuss it with you...

Tally ho ho ho...

At least the Jets-Pats is a 4 pm game so I can watch all of the unbeaten teams in one day. Oh, and the Browns. wink
stinger85
That's good joe. That means you'll know who the ONE team that remains unbeaten at the end of Sunday will be...you do the math.
Joe in Philly
Actually, they way I figure it the Jets and Patriots will battle all the way through overtime and end up in a tie, leaving just one team with a perfect record. Here's a hint: it won't be the Browns. wink

'Round these parts they say that at this time of year (i.e., baseball season) the Pats "fly under the radar." The Jets may be experiencing the same phenomenon. NY/NE fans and media still transfixed by the Yankees/Red Sox.

MD, you may have to paint your face for this weekend as i'm not really liking the match-up with the brownies. This has trap game written all over... Garthiasssssssssss, played really well last week, but alas... it was against the bengals..

Isn't that asking a lot -- walking around Phoenix with a painted face? Although if we go to that same bar as before-- I won't be the only guy with tons of makeup on his face eek!
PhillyFan
This is an interesting trap game for the birds. On the road VS an AFC Team, where they usually don't fair well. The past few years the AFC teams have given them problems.

Eh, the more i look at the cleveland roster, the eagles are just flat out better, the only way the brownies win is by a let down or another spectacular performance by the faggot or green getting way over 100 yards.

Eagles are now the number one D in scoring, holding their opponents to 12.6 points per game while scoring a thrid best 27.4 per game.

GO EAGLES!

Is it me or is every game a "trap" game for the Eaglettes? The Browns will run the ball against the Eagles. The Browns are a physical team, something TO doesn't like. I look forward to seeing his first temper tantrum as an Eagle this weekend.
PhillyFan
you mean the first PF temper tantrum....

but alas, the "enforcer" "shut down corner" MDPHL, true eagle fan, will be there to keep things in line.
stinger85
Um, I just realized that the Eagles/Browns game brings Owens and Garcia to the same field...am I that slow or has my drinking finally effected me...anyway, it should be interesting to see if any fireworks develop, or at least see how TO shoots off his mouth.

Gee, unless one of them has switched sides of the ball, they'll hardly be on the "same field"...
This is much media hype about nothing...hopefully it will all die out quickly...

The more Garcia mentions his GIRLFRIENDS in interviews, the more suspect he becomes.

From AP: In his autobiography and during interviews, the brash, Sharpie-wielding wideout has ripped Garcia's playing ability and leadership skills. Owens has even questioned Garcia's sexuality.

"I don't know why he can't let it go," Garcia said. "I mean, it's unfortunate because I've never looked at T.O. as being an enemy of mine. I don't know where the anger or the negativity or the criticism comes from, and why certain comments have been made, because he's known my situation in the past.

"He's always known my girlfriends , things like that, and to have the things said that have been said, I just don't know where it comes from."

PF don't go queasy on us with this game against Cleveland. If there is a trap game to be had it may be against Pittsburgh.

No Cleveland is a gritty team and they are undefeated at home. Plus Fag boy might have alot of motivation to shut up TO. The key is going to be getting a lead in this game and keeping it. Dont want to get into a grind it out game. We are yet to see if the Birds can produce on a power running attack.

PS no looking forward or you will be slapped, it's only about Cleveland this week.

Jets @ Pats – This one makes me a little nervous, for the first time in 19 games. I think it'll all come down to Cory Dillon vs. Curtis Martin. Martin usually steps it up against his old team; but I'm still waiting for Dillon to have a huge game as a Patriot. Now would be a good time.

And why is everyone always engaging in the Sideline Battle of the Coaches – Gibbs, Reid, Tuna, Walrus, etc...? There's only one coach in the league who is a true genius, and his name is Belichick. End of argument.

Should be interesting to see how the Bills fare against the J-Lew-less Ravens. And how many more quarters of football Drew Bledsoe has left in his career with his old Statue in the Pocket routine.

Troublesome picks for me this week: Falcons @ Chiefs, Chargers @ Panthers, Cowboys @ Packers.

Well, it mainly has to do with someone who may still operate under the delusion that Washington will be in the playoffs thanks to Gibbs. wink

Eagles struggled but won at Cleveland in overtime, and the Colts lost at home to Jacksonville. I don't want to see anyone putting the Colts ahead of the Eagles in the Power Rankings this week. biggrin.gif

And let's hear it for this week's designated fraud: your New York football Giants. Two weeks ago I said I thought the Lions were more for real than the Giants, and they proved it today. Atlanta would be the runner-up in the fraud category. 56-10???

But with the Giants now being exposed as their true selves, who have the Eagles beaten who is decent competition? They don't make their schedule, but they've beaten the Giants, Panthers, Browns, Lions, and Bears. Oh yeah, and they beat the Vikings... a team that should have beaten the Eagles had they not imploded by fumbling the ball all over the place and failing to challenge a bogus touchdown. Give them credit they're 6-0, but lets take this 6-0 into context.

Kind of a crappy Sunday. I mean, we were all deprived from watching that Lethal Weapon, Mark Brunell.

And if you're a St Louis Rams fan.. what the?

Stinger and MDphl, nice to meet you - - although I expected more alcohol consumption... and I was willing to pay!
phillyrunner
Just when you think you have a handle on who should be winning, a flurry of upsets brings teams back to earth. Lions beating the Giants, Jags over Indy, Arizona over Seattle and Miami over the Rams to name a few. Then there is Kansas City who torches Atlanta's top rushing defense for 8TDs and 56 points.

Coyoteugly, before you start dissing the Eagles for their schedule, just look at the other supposedly good teams who have already lost to weaker opponents. I think there is more parity in the league than most people think. But even with that said, good teams usually find a way to beat weaker teams even on their bad days.

They only lost one fumble in that game (and so did the Eagles). As for the touchdown that wasn't challenged, even if you take that away that still leaves the Eagles ahead in that game (assuming they didn't score anyway on that drive).

Clearly the NFC is a weak conference, though. After the Eagles and Vikings there are a bunch of pretenders.
SFHoya
Helluva Sunday for upsets. Just when I think I've figured out which teams are for real this year, we get a Sunday like this.

I don't know what to expect of the rest of this season. I guess that what'll keep me tuned in next week though.
Jim at Outsports
Posted my Week 7 notes.

I think the NFC is very weak and there is no legitimate contender save for the Eagles. I still don't trust the Vikings defense, the Falcons are frauds, the Seahawks haven't recovered from the Ram collapse.

Whoa, whoa, whoa. I didn't dis the Eagles for their schedule. Their schedule is their schedule. They have no control over that. What I am saying is that you have to put the Eagle's record into context.

Not much love here for Cleveland after taking the suposedly-super-bowl-bound Iggles to the wire !?
Cleveland must be awful good.

Just think if Cleveland would have had their best offensive player (K. Winslow) and their best defensive player (Courtney Brown) in the game !
Joe in Philly
What-if's work both ways. What if both teams had all their players healthy? What if the officials hadn't had their heads up their asses all day, ignoring the illegal picks by the Browns (including the one that allowed the tight end to go into the end zone untouched) or making one of the worst roughing-the-passer calls ever, allowing the Browns to keep their game-tying drive going? What if Andy Reid didn't have the occasional play-calling brain cramp (going for it on 4th-and-1 early on, throwing long bombs much too often in the wrong situations)?

But let's get to the bottom line:

QUOTE
\"We don't want to focus on moral victories,\" cornerback Anthony Henry said. \"We want to get the win, no matter what. We did some things good, but we didn't win the game. That's the bottom line.\"
PhillyFan
Are we still on that Bogus TD for the Vikes? Blame Mike Tice, he needs to challenge a play like that. Where were his coaches in the booth saying challenge... challenge challenge...

Further, they played Detroit IN Detriot and kicked their asses. They gutted out a game against Cleveland this weekend, on the road. They spanked a beat up Carolina team. They spanked a fraud Giants team. They controlled the game against da bears.

This Browns game was a trap game for them, this is a game they should have lost, but did not. That shows they are a good team when all the others are falling around them.

Plus, it's six fricking thirty in the morning and sting sting is on his plane... and PF is up for the rest of the day... blah... that mean cranky...

Munson Man
Did anyone see the Pats - Jets showdown? It was quite a game, except for the decision to run a basic draw play on third and five late in the fourth quarter and the Jets driving. Pennington was in a bit of a groove and had been hitting for eight to ten yard gains with regularity, so the call made no sense. Predictably, Curtis Martin got stopped for a three yard loss. Even more predictably, the pass on fourth and eight was incomplete and the game was effectively over. I think Herman edwards is an excellent coach, but he tends to go completely conservative in situations like that. It's time to turn Pennington loose, Herm......
pat125
Munson Man, I agree the Pats-Jets game was a good one. There were some questionable calls by Edwards in the fourth quarter, but it was the touchdown drive by the Patriots at the end of the first half that annoyed me the most.

The Jets went ahead 7-6 with 2:00 to go in the first half. So instead of playing the defense that worked for them the whole game, Edwards has his defense go into prevent defense mode. A team that still has 2:00 minutes with a couple of timeouts has enough time to go down the field when the defense lets them have 10-15 yards a play. That annoyed me more than the stupid 12 men on the field penalty during a NE punt that gave them a first down.

I've seen the Jets lose so many games with the prevent defense, that it's frustrating when I see them continue doing it. rolleyes.gif

From what I saw on the NFL highlights, Terrell Owens didn't appear too pleased with the taunting signs in Cleveland yesterday, especially the 'It Takes One to Know One' and the picture of the rat, a reference to his suggestion that Jeff Garcia is gay. He received an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty for tearing up the sign. Was this T.O.'s way of letting us know he's not gay? biggrin.gif

Looks like the Browns have been the Eagles' most serious opponent to date, requiring overtime to win the game. Which reminds me...has the NFL still not changed the sudden-death overtime rule? I thought there was supposed to be a rule change this year to guarantee at least one appearance by each team's offense in OT situations. It's been a feature in the CFL for a long time now.

Besides Lewis & Lewis, I've found another reason to dislike the Baltimore Ravens...that egotistical Deion Sanders is back.
