Heard on the radio today that Reuben Droughns, another holdout client of Rosenhaus, now says he'll show up. I wonder what will happen to the client base once these players figure out that Drew can't deliver all that he promises?

This team wins without TO. Mark my words. Are they better with him, well of course. Can they go back to the supe without him, definitely. Heck, they won in the playoffs when no one said they could.
This little stint by TO will do two things for him.
1. Piss off the fans so much, that whatever “celebrity” following he had last year… is gone. Exactly what Sal Pal was saying.
2. Allow the Eagles to cut him after next year when he will be due the bonus.
You could call this the biggest blunder of mankind because all the chump had to do was go out and put up similar numbers this year to make himself non-cuttable.
Travis Henry is still out there. It’s the perfect trade for Simon. However Simon wants too much money. Is Henry worth a 2nd rounder? Just to pick up a rotation back? They brought in all those draft picks this year… is that enough to mortgage next years draft? Not sure.
However, thinking about Westy, Moats, Henry and Blunt as the RB’s. That’s almost orgasmic.
My basic point is that TO thinks he is the key to this team, he is not.
If he hold out, he will never be forgiven and he can pack his bags… this year.

So with your plethera of championships, you consider Tampa a better sports town than let's say.. Chicago? By your definition, towns are only great sports towns with multiple recent champions, so Tampa must be right up there with Boston, eh? Troll.
Congratulations on posting so many pretty pictures. I guess you're pretty used to having only pictures in your life to stimulate you. Troll.
Back to T.O.... here's what I came across today online:
While carrying water for the Eagles on the T.O. mess, Bob Brookover of The Philadelphia Inquirer says that Owens' only options are to play under the terms of his 2005 contract or sit out the 2005 season and be subject to the 2005 terms again in 2006; this analysis overlooks what we believe to be the most likely scenario -- Owens holds out until in week ten in order to get credit for the 2005 season, forcing the Eagles either to pick up his $7.5 million roster and option boni in March 2006 or to release him.
Joe in Philly
Jun 16 2005, 11:08 AM
I think "showing up for week 10" qualifies as "playing under the terms of his 2005 contract" except for whatever fines he's assessed, not being paid for the games he missed, etc.
The speculation as to what could happen is -- if he shows up at all, when he shows up, if he takes more verbal jabs at McNabb, can they win without him, etc. -- is really amusing.

In yesterday's edition of the Philadelphia Daily News, Drew Rosenhaus said: \"I called Andy (Reid) and talked to him. I mention this because I think people have the sense that I don't have a professional dialogue with him. It's not like he and I don't have a dialogue.\"
According to two Eagles officials, the team, including Reid, has had no conversations with Rosenhaus regarding Owens' desire to rework the seven-year contract he signed before last season.
It is true that Rosenhaus called Reid recently, but one Eagles official said the conversation lasted \"a matter of seconds.\"
\"Drew called Andy on his cell,\" the official said. \"Andy didn't realize it was Drew and he answered the phone.\"

Even if the Eagles were enamored with T.O. they would not give consent to playing BB. No team wants to a risk an injury to a star player. As far a s a trade to Oakland, just where would that team find money under the cap after just signing Moss.
The Eagles have nothing to lose by doing nothing right now. If T.O. decides to hold out he still owes the Eagles a year plus he could incur up to 2 million in fines.

My guess is all of these reports -- the trade to the Raiders (which can't happen because Porter (or some of his signing bonus, at least) would still count towards the Raiders' cap numbers and they'd have to release a number of players to fit in T.O.), playing for the Kings in the summer (the Eagles said they won't give permission even if asked, which they haven't been asked yet) -- are being stirred up by the sleazy Drew Rosenhaus. He is getting increasingly desperate to make something happen and he can't. T.O is totally screwed and it's his own fault for falling into Drew's sleazy clutches.

\"It doesn't matter,\" Owens said. \"At the end of the day, I don't have to worry about what people think of me, whether they hate me or not. People hated on Jesus. They threw stones at him and tried to kill him, so how can I complain or worry about what people think?
\"How can you justify hating me after I worked so hard rehabilitating from a broken leg to get back to the Super Bowl to help our team try to win? Really, you've got to look at who the villain really is in this thing.\"

LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) -- NFL player agent Drew Rosenhaus performed CPR to save a young boy pulled unconscious from a swimming pool at a Disney World resort hotel Tuesday.
The Chicago boy was on a trip with his family. He was transported to a hospital but was expected to be fine, said Cpl. Carlos Torres of the Orange County Sheriff's Office.

The cynic in me believes this Rosenhaus affair was staged. I mean a Disney resort has scores of people and at least a couple of life guards. I can't believe they all just stood around waiting for Drew to come by.
In other news Mr. Rosenhaus says there is a 50/50 chance that Owens will show up to training camp. Is that a chink in the armour I detect?

Now that I think of it, he's probably asking the parents for a raise in the kid's allowance and asking for the standard 4% from the kid in return.

The Eagles are fools by even commenting in public about this guy from now on. All they should say is "T.O. is under contract. He has decided not to show up. You all know the ramifications of his actions. We'll talk about the players who are here, and let Owens comment on his own situation."
Joe in Philly
Jul 22 2005, 09:22 AM
They really should have waited until camp began to make comments like Banner did this week. The other point they should be making is that the inequity Rosenhaus is claiming -- that it's not fair that an "underpaid" player can't sit out for a raise but a team can cut an "overpaid" player who's still under contract -- has to be changed in collective bargaining.
Heard on the radio this morning that Atlanta's owner already said they don't want the distraction of T.O.

Hmmm, another selfish, "me first" player in the NFL. That's a surprise.
Despite his obvious talent, I think some teams might view that type of attitude as poisonous to team building.
Personally, I hope Philly sets him straight and tells him they won't trade. If he "no shows," that's his problem.
I really can't see Atlanta trying to take him. One of the things Blank agreed to when he hired Mora was to purge as many of the bad apples when they began re-building the Falcons from the ground up. Those that stayed did so because they had the right attitude to begin with, or they changed their ways and embraced Mora's philosophy.
IMHO, someone like TO (who I give plenty of credit for his talent) just brings a counterproductive attitude to what Mora is trying to do long-term.

I think his showing up to training camp albeit while disgruntled, is a calculated move. Not only does he avoid the fines but being there in the limelight gives him the perfect soapbox to air his laundry. One thing we know about T.O. and Rosenhaus, they don't like to be ignored or forgotten. Since the media will be at training camp every day, I am sure T.O. will have plently to say.
I also heard on the radio that T.O. said getting his contract reworked is matter of life and death. Well he is right in a way, it might be a deathknell for Rosenhaus if he fails to get what his client wants. Other players are watching to see whether he can live up to all his hype.
