So the next time the Eagles have a game go to OT and they win the toss, they'll kick the ball away? What good will this move do?
With the players they've lost in free agency already (and the Brian Mitchell loss will be devastating, mark my words), they'll be hard-pressed just to get back to the NFC title game, let alone win a Super Bowl.

welcome back to the days of the beer being more fun than the actual eagles game itself...
I thought they would lose barber in FA, he had a great year, no way he was getting overpaid for one good year. Hugh really needs to be signed. Seattle and Denver seem to be courting him from what i've heard. If he gets a decent offer from the eggs he will stay... if not.. bye bye
I wish i was allowed to drink at work.

There are some guys who just aren't cut out to be head coaches but thrive as assistants. Look on the bright side-Morninhweg was a well respected and successful assistant in San Francisco and Green Bay before taking on the Lions job. While I believe he was in way over his head, the GM and ownership didn't give him a whole hell of alot to work with. And maybe he's just better off as a sergeant instead of a general.

Amazes me how teams are always coming up with new title/positions for staff members/consultants...Marty's going to be the "Senior Assistant Coach"...how many assistants does Andy have that aren't position coaches...sounds like Reid might be doing a buddy a favor...did somebody vacate this position or is it newly created?...
Flew back from San Diego with Marty a couple weeks ago where he had just closed on a beach house; being unemployed isn't so bad afterall!; unloading the house in Detroit might be another story...

JoeinPhilly -- agree with you on Mitchell (and he is going to the Giants?). Bigger issue is his replacement - Westbrook who I think is highly rated even though he is fan favorite.
Also agree with George that some coaches thrive as assistants -- that said, this guy was certainly a pathetic excuse for a head coach (Millen is also a wannabe in the fron office there).
Hold on for the ride!

Mitchell has signed with the Giants. While Westbrook might prove to be capable, he doesn't have the experience. Look for, if not fumbles, then errors in judgment as to when to try a return and when to make a fair catch. Not the type of thing you want if you actually are trying to win a Super Bowl now. Same thing with the punter--they signed someone else and apparently don't want Landeta back.
If they don't come up with some major replacements it could get ugly.
