The quote unquote local gay hotel/inn is Alexander Inn at 12th & Spruce Street, just a few blocks from the subway to get the game and located in the heart of the "gayborhood". Rooms start at $99.

I stayed at some holiday Inn express right by woodies. It was pretty nice. It said like 116 or 108 last night. I havent booked anything yet. Right now, it's me. my buddy, and sting there. Plus i told WM1865 he could crash there.
I saw on orbitz last night that the crowne plaza had rooms for 99 a night, and that was a pretty nice place from what i remember 2 years ago.
LIke a gay hotel, i just might do that holiday inn or crowne cause i have my str8 buddy with me. I told him he had to party with us saturday, so i dont wanna push it. Never stayed at a gay hotel.
Can someone explain this alexander inn?
On a side not, MDPHL promised to walk around shirtless to impress everyone that night too... see the hits just keep coming. I also heard JIP was gonna dance on the tables... But i'm not one to gossip.

PhillyFan stayed at the Holiday Inn Express on the 1300 block of Walnut Street, which is the closest hotel to the bars. The Doubletree Hotel is also very close to the bars. Your straight friend will be very comfortable at the Alexander Inn, I don't think more than 50% of the guests are gay and there are private bathrooms in every guest room. Alexander advertises in gay publications as the only gay hotel in Philly, but also positions itself as an inexpensive botique hotel in other advertising.
Alexander Inn I wouldn't highly recommend Crowne Plaza, although it is nice, it will be a slightly longer walk to the gay bars (8-9 blocks vs. 2-3 blocks). It is so inexpensive because the Crowne Plaza is located right in the heart of all the high rise office towers in town, so not many people are around there on weekends. But the area is still completely safe.
Another option would be to check Loews Hotel, the hotel we had the conference at. Check out their website, you might be able to get a really nice room for $119 or so.

JiP can dance on any tables he wants to, but any and all stages are hereby reserved for sting to work his bootylicious magic.
And if we have MD shirtless and JiP dancing, does that mean we're also gonna get to see WM's college tricks? I'd ask about PF's talent, butI'm pretty sure he'll already be annoying!

Sting - you have a vivid imagination. Now --where are those pictures of your barenaked ass which you alluded to in another thread?
And Scottie is right -- Crown Plaza is a bit of a hike from the gayborhood BUT if you stay there on the 18th Street side you can look right into my office. Amazing what happens in that place.

I left out the other philly folks cuz I'm expecting you all to be there. That'd be JiP, phillyrunner, scottie...otehr philly people.

It's an okay area, probably a little quiet at night. You'd be better off staying at Crowne Plaza, it's closer to the things you'll want to do in Philly (drink, drink, drink). I'd also recommend trying Alexander Inn (probably $99/night), and you can also try Hilton Garden Inn (sometimes they have inexpensive rooms - depending on if a big convention is in town or not)

What section are the seats in? IF, and that's a HUGE if (since my daughter's first b-day is four days prior to the game the odds are 10/90 yes), I go then I'll search eBay and call brokers for that specific section. Either way I'd love to go to Philly, with an Eagles game to boot. I've heard the Linc is awesome.

The tickets are in different sections because of how we had to scramble to get tickets the day they went on sale. 4 of them are in section 226 row 28. There are 3 in section 213 row 13 and a single seat in either 241 or 236 (depending on which one PF sent me because I sold it to a friend of my brother).

Well, outside of the Phillies Gay Day games (and Outsports Convention II, of course) we haven't had any really large gatherings -- a few small ones, a couple of us going to games and the like. This would be the largest, I guess. But other areas have had success -- appletinis in DC and the NFL-watching at the bar in NYC come to mind.
I think it can help if you decide on an activity and set a date, rather than go back and forth with "let's get together/yeah, we should get together/sure, let's do something." Someone needs to take charge like GatorJamie did in DC and her man PhillyFan wink did with this event.
