Kind of surprised there is no thread on this yet, but Jerry Rice officially retired yesterday. He could have retired a couple of years ago and still would have been the most accomplished receiver ever. Those 49er teams were just amazing and Rice just made it look so easy. He is even more appreciated when we have to tolerate the new breed receivers like Owens, Moss, etc.

So sad. Being a 49'ers fan since I lived there, I hated to see this day come. It was nice seeing him as a Hawk for awhile too, but too bad he didn't have much of an impact there. I wonder how quietly he will go away. Will always love ya Jerry.
