Some real tough games this week. Could be another tricky week.
If you missed out on the first 4 weeks, you are still invited to join in this week. For those who have played, the rules are the same. And for those who would like to play its really quite easy. Each week, I will post the complete schedule of NFL games for the coming week. You simply predict the winner of each game. We don't need no stinkin' point spreads here! Here's how you do it:
1. Pick the winners in EACH game.
2. Predict how many points the team you pick to win the designated Game of the Week will win by. This week, its the Packers at Bears, as selected by last weeks winner, BigBucBoy. This will be used for tiebreak purposes.
3. All picks are due by kickoff of the opening game of that weekend. Thankfully, there are no games until Sunday. So your picks are due by 1pm Eastern time Sunday.
4. Picks MUST be submitted either via the Private Message function or E-mail. My email address is geolovevikes@yahoo.com. I must ask that you do not post your picks here. That way I can ensure picks are submitted before the deadline. Please include your Outsports nickname with your picks! Any questions, email me.
Here are this week's games, another 14 game week, with the Lions, Texans, Seahawks and Vikings having a bye:
Sunday 10/6
1. Buccaneers at Falcons
2. Raiders at Bills
3. Giants at Cowboys
4. Redskins at Titans
5. Bengals at Colts
6. Patriots at Dolphins
7. Steelers at Saints
8. Cardinals at Panthers
9. Chiefs at Jets
10. Chargers at Broncos
11. Rams at 49ers
12. Eagles at Jaguars
13. Ravens at Browns
Monday 10/7
14. Packers at Bears (TIEBREAK GAME)
Happy picking everyone and good luck!!!

Tricky week is right, George. That's why I won't send you my picks until Saturday night so I won't have to send you my weekly, "oops, I changed my mind" email.

I shouldve used George's espn strategy from last year, All home teams last week. Last week I forgot to do the picks on the espn game so automatically it picked all the home teams for me and they were 12-2 last week.

Thanks gp43, I may not be the only one who took a cue from this but I'll be the first to admit it.

Too lazy and tired (Bad date + Late Night = Pooped Game Moderator!) to create a new thread, so here are this week's Notes on Week 5 Pick 'Em.
Great week this week. 40 players so far. Any one of 6 or 7 games could have been a solid choice as Game of the Week. Lots of very close splits on the games. But that's not to say we don't have some big time underdogs as well.
Not surprisingly, the Bungles garnered the least support. I guess the two (GoldenStateDude, IUFan) who pick them to upset the Colts think starting Kitna will get them on track. Two teams many pundits had going to the Super Bowl, or at least the playoffs, have little support this week, thanks to their really bad starts and staring new QB's this week. The Rams have 5 backers (Cyd, SpartyOn, Pat125, MetsBoy, EdChow) as they take on the 49ers, while the J-E-T-S Jets also have 5 (Maddog, Pat125, MunsonMan, EdChow, gp43) against the Chiefs.
We are most divided by the Bucs-Falcons and the Giants-Cowboys, with the Bucs and GMen having 21 supporters, the Falcons and 'Boys with 19 each. Another close one looks to be the Raiders-Bills with the Silver and Black holding a 24-16 edge. And in the battle for first place in the AFC East, the Dolphins have a 25-15 margin over the Pats.
Our Co-Ballsy Prognosticators of the Week: Pat125 and EdChow who both picked the Rams and Jets as well as the Cardinals.
Here's how the other games look:
Browns 31, Ravens 9
Eagles 31, Jaguars 9
Saints 31, Steelers 9
Broncos 28, Chargers 12
Titans 28, Redskins 12
Panthers 27, Cardinals 13
Packers 26, Bears 14 The spread for the tiebreak ranges from the Packers by 15 to the Bears by 20!

Home teams were 6-7, sorry
How many people did this?
Garner and Gannon sure Kicked Ass!
Silver and Black is the only undefeated team.
On the espn game I didnt pick all the home teams this week and am 10-3, missing with Philly, Tennessee, and Atlanta.

Yikes!!! The Brownies almost did it. That was some great comeback anyway. Still that one would have been huge for my picks.
Go Pack tonite!

I didn't go entirely for home picks, and wouldn't blame home picks for the poor performance of my choices anyhow, but I was so thrilled with some of the victories - and (shadenfreude coming) one of the losses that I really don't care.
Great game between KC and the Jets. I really didn't care who won. I like Trent Green. He's been around a while and it's good he's finally getting some support from his organization. Pennington looked good even losing. Could he not look good?
Though Philly lost, McNabb continues to show he may be worth his salary.
Miami and San Francisco are rolling.
Bummer that Michael Vick is injured. Glad at least it's not his throwing arm.
I wont cry if the Rams don't win a game all year.

I guess it was a great game, but I did care who won. In fact, I was more upset with that loss then the Yankees losing, because it was close. I also picked them to win. This is like the old Jets who either get clobbered, or if they have a lead with 2 minutes left, employ the prevent (themselves from holding the lead) defense, give up the points strategically so there is no time left for them for a comeback.

We've got one player with a record of 11-2 so far and three with 10-3 records. The leader has the Bears tonight, while one of the 10-3 guys has the Packers (the other two also have the Bears). So tonight's game, which also happens to be the tiebreak game, will determine the winner of this week's contest.
