I have read and heard from different sources in the last few days that Dan Snyder has talked to and perhaps offered the coaching job of the Redskins to a former coach? Does anybody have any gut feeling who that might be? Another story I read does not refer to him as a former coach, but a coach. Any insights to this question greatly appreciated.

After the carousel of coaches in Washington, who'd be crazy enough to go work for Synder?

To answer your question about who it may be... I don't know. No way Joe Gibbs ever works for that guy, and I suspect he would be the big name that Snyder would want.
Would be really surprised if Snyder dumped Spurrier - Remember, he has a contract for five years and $25 million. Snyder has money, but is he willing to just let that money slide and hire his fifth new coach since 1999?
I love to see owners who think they know something about football fail by spending, spending, spending and changing, changing, changing without regard to team chemistry.
And congrats to those fans of the NFC East's other teams, because as long as this clown keeps running the show the way he is, that division will always be a 3 team race, with the Redskins looking in from the outside!
Can you imagine how it would feel to be a Redskin fan going into every season knowing the Cowboys will be a better team than yours? Sickening.

Denny Green is still out there sans job. Perhaps it is him? I think Spurrier will at least finish the season though.

This subject is talked about non-stop out here. The best comparison to Steve Spurrier and moving to the pros is when Rick Pitino went to the NBA and failed. The Redskins are completely out of control, and listening to their comments on talk radio for the past few weeks, I don't see it getting better for them. People around here are already starting to deflect their attention to the surprising Ravens.

I don't think Spurrier has been given a chance yet in DC to work his magic. I still see the guy as a fundamentally sound coach. Unfortunately I think Snyder won't be able to keep himself from pulling the plug.

You know, spurrier benched himself this week from calling plays. That is probably the best move he's made since he's been a coach. Takes alot of the pressure off the players.
Lil Danny boi is the problem with this team. The redskins are the most talented team in the nfc east hands down. There is just a revolving door of change on team.. which needs to stop and allow the team to gel. A little discipline on D wouldnt hurt either....

That is the G-D truth if I ever heard it. I am so sick of that jacka** running this team as if it were his own fantasy team. I mean, good gawd, it's not like the Skins are the AssBandits (3-7 due to my own lack of experience)!
