Reeves is gone in Atlanta.
Jim Allen
I don't get this at all. Sure, the Falcons have sucked, but presto! they get Vick back and they win. Is there more to this than meets the eye? And aren't NFL coaches usually fired after the season? I guess we'll find out soon with Fassel and Haslett!

Dennis Green
Jim Allen
Dennis Green?!?! Are the Falcons insane? Let's review his last three seasons as Vikings head coach: 15-1 in the regular season, lose to the Falcons in the NFC Championship. Next year, they lose to the Rams. The year after that, the Vikings give up an early TD against the Giants in the playoffs and completely collapsed, easily the worst capitulation I've ever seen in the NFL.

Just Say No.

Wade Phillips will coach the last 3 games. From ESPN:
QUOTE
Among the possible candidates: former Minnesota coach Dennis Green, Rams defensive coordinator Lovie Smith, and college coaches Bob Stoops of Oklahoma, Nick Saban of LSU, and Kirk Ferentz of Iowa
Should someone named "Lovie" be the head coach of an NFL team?

Jimmy Johnson was interviewed on PTI and was asked if he had any interest in coaching for Atlanta or any other team and he said he was completely over coaching. He was then asked what he thought about Deion taking the job. He said "Please...Deion said it was too much work to be assistant coach so that tells me all I need to know about him coaching anywhere"
LAKERSRDABOMB
Jim Allen I agrre w/ you 100% about Greens credentials as a head coach! "Just Say NO" has a new meaning!

Well, Wade Phillips is no winner either. Couldn't Blank have waited till the end of the season? Is he going to fund an offensive line that will protect Michael Vick's (beautiful) legs and arms (and face)? Is he going to bolster Atlanta's defense?

Actually, Dennis Green might be just the ticket for a QB like Vick. He's offense-minded and just needs to hire a top defensive coordinator.

Deion--just stay in the broadcasting booth!

Only if it's ok with Thurston Howell III, and if they can get them off that damn island in time for the rest of the season. wink

He wanted to, but Reeves said that if he was going to be fired anyway he wanted to be fired immediately rather than after the season. Wade Phillips is just a placeholder.

Deion's broadcasting days are over at CBS. Will he get his own show on another network...or the NFL network?
Adam
I bet Deion winds up at ESPN, joining the Sunday morning talkathon with Berman, Irvin, et al.

I'm still betting on a Rush Limbaugh comeback. tongue.gif Before he left ESPN last year Rush did predict New England would win the Super Bowl.
SmoothRon
Rush working at ESPN was a disaster waiting to happen. He needs to stick with the forum that he was working in.
