Yes, if we can do it during the regular season, why not the preseason?

Well, in any event, I'm watching the stats of the Chiefs-Giants game and at halftime, the Chiefs have 311 yards offense. 311 yards!

There's not much defense going on in this game, period, including a 67 yard touchdown by Ron Dayne.

Who would have guessed that Ron Dayne could run 67 yards without getting caught?

The fact that Dayne lost 38 POUNDS during the offseason undoubtedly played a MAJOR role in his performance tonight....whether he did this as a result of a mandate from the new drill sgt (err, I mean, head coach), Tom Coughlin, or whether it was because Dayne realized that he has to perform well NOW or his NFL career is likely history is debateable....of course, this may also be a sign that the Chiefs (even with new Def. Coordinator Gunther Cunningham at the helm) may have another anemic defense this year and will have to rely on Trent Green and Priest Holmes to score 40+ points a game to win.

T. Owens - 3 receptions, 14 yards, 0 TDs.

Tune in tomorrow to see how a receiver stats should look...even in exhibition games.

Ummmm, Dayne playing against literally a 2nd string defense? GREAT! Very impressive, too bad he hasnt done shit in the regular season, except fumble and gain 2 yards. Please get back to me when he plays against the starters.

Are you people mad? I mean it's pre-season. Only the shitty teams like the foreskins are trying to win. Everyone else is calling vanilla. They are getting a look at the kids.

JR Reed, safety drafted by the birds, will be a force covering kicks. Birds already have the best 2 safeties in the league... Aint no way he's getting playing time there. Sam Rayburn played really well tonite. He should also make the team. You eagles fans know if Darwin Walker was injured, i didnt see him playing. I saw alot of Hollis.

This article at the Eagles' website about the injuries doesn't mention Walker at all.

Joe Gibbs' Redskins would have to quadruple the complexity of their play calling just to get to "vanilla".

...though isn't this the way the Eagles started last season as well?

How to analyze a pre-season football game 101:

How did your first team do against your opponents first team? And I wouldn't even put much stock in this one, given the limited amount of game planning. More importantly...

Did any of your starters or key second-stringers get hurt?

That's it.

Evaluating a team/game based upon the play of a bunch of guys who will never see the field in a regular season NFL game is just absurd.

SO long as Culpepper, Moss, Bennett, etc come through with health in tact, the Vikes win. The outcome, score, yardage, stats and such mean squat. There have been many teams that went 4-0 in prebies and had losing records when it counts. At the opposite end, many teams have gone 0-4 or 1-3 and managed to have very successful, playoff bound regular seasons.
