Good riddance to Mr. Sehorn.
He couldn't cover a 90 year old lady anymore, much less Terrell Owens or any other good receiver.

The Giants secondary just got much better for 2003, simply by dropping this bum.

That 8 mil cap hit on the giants this coming year is nice... very nice.

The Vikes are looking for a corner.

I've got a spare room . . . biggrin.gif

Dear God, the Vikings secondary has been burned enough the past several years sans Sehorn. Stay away from the Vikes! eek!

Frankly, I'm not sure anybody will go after him given his soft reputation the last couple of years. One player (I want to say Warren Sapp?) referred to him openly as the most overrated player in football. Not sure if that's true, but he been burnt more than the crumbs in the bottom of my toaster. tongue.gif

Hey, Sapp was referring to himself when he made those comments... I will really miss booo'in sehorn, shame he's gone really....

Them taking the big cap hit is sort of crazy, 8 mil cap hit or pay him his bonus...

Look for Jason Sehorn to become the next ex-jock to turn game-show-host. I even found his underwear ads un-sexy.

Seems like Sehorn has a different version of the events. This from ESPN.com:

QUOTE
Jason Sehorn says he was more than willing to take a pay cut to play again for the New York Giants.

The veteran cornerback was released Friday after nine seasons with the team. He was due to make $4.3 million next season and receive a $1 million roster bonus this month.

Sehorn and the Giants had talks about reducing his salary this season to $1 million, but the team refused to guarantee that he wouldn't be cut before training camp.

He also had offered to move to safety, with Will Peterson and Will Allen entrenched as the Giants' cornerbacks. Sehorn lost his starting job to Peterson last season.

\"My opinion is that I must have worn out my welcome with some in the organization, as not everyone was as excited about the prospect of me playing safety as others were,'' Sehorn said in a letter to the \"Giants family and fans'' posted on his Web site, www.sehornscorner.org.

\"And quite frankly, some may not have appreciated my voice and opinion, or I'd still be wearing Giant Blue,'' he added. \"Or perhaps it was strictly about money for them, as I was more than willing to take a significant pay cut. If that's the case, then I'm simply another cap casualty because I would have been cheaper to keep than let go.''

Releasing Sehorn will cost the Giants $8 million against the salary cap this season, but he will be off the cap next year.

Sehorn is a Ram, according to ESPN.com.

$8 million od dead money counting against the salary cap.... jeez.... I think someone screwed up. and it's not Fassel. Decisions like these are not made by the coach (most don't understand business implications) but by the GMs.

I hope he does well at St.Louis. But I don't think so.

3rd down and long... jason, how do you like your "toast" served, heh heh...

Why on earth did the Rams do this? Sehorn proved over the last 3 years that he can't cover top receivers anymore. Wasn't the Giants' humiliation in the Super Bowl enough proof? Who on the Rams made this awful decision? They/he/she ought to be fired. :-(

And although he has since "apologized" Martz ripped Sehorn a couple of years ago saying something like "I'd like to line up against him every week". I guess the salary cap can make you forget!
Brent
He just wanted an on AND off the field companion for Adam Archuleta! tongue.gif

But if that were the case...what was wrong with Eric Crouch?? And as a 'ho--he was a lot cheaper!

Maybe Martz is getting a cut of the underwear profits....
