Memo to Reid: Your. Offensive. System. DOES. NOT. WORK!
Disagree, This team never does well VS the 3-4.

Aren't there more teams playing the 3-4 now than last year? And if it works, others will follow. And regardless, throwing the ball 25 consecutive times is pathetic. I'm tired of the excuse that the short passing game substitutes for the running game. It doesn't do the job as well, especially when the QB isn't 100 percent.

Not even having Westbrook on the field on the 4th-and-1 in the fourth quarter (which they probably shouldn't have tried anyway) is a disgrace.

Article in the paper today: a Kosher tailgate. wink

The Rams will have to do without Mike Martz for the rest of the season due to his bacterial infection. While i wish Martz the best of health, I'm not sure this isn't a good thing for the Rams.

The Packers will have to muddle through the rest of the season sans Ahman Green, who will require knee surgery after yesterday's game. This, I am sure, is a very bad thing for the Packers. I wonder if Favre wishes he'd retired last year?

More Martz news...I just heard on PTI that Martz tried to phone in a play during yesterday's game but the call was intercepted by the Rams office and not put through to the booth. Sound like Martz has already coached his last game for the Rams?

Teams just dont switch from a 3-4 to a 4-3.

What Reid needs to do is stick with the run, however it was NOT there yesterday at all. Probably a reason they are in the top 5 of Rush D. They seemed to be all over the screen plays which have seemed to work all year also.

You need to face facts that this offense is not going to be explosive this year with the injury to Dmac. He clearly can not throw deep this year.

I'd also not judge the team till they get into the NFC games. They see the Chiefs, Chargers, Raider and Denver once every 4 years.

Time for concern will be if you dont see more balance when playing the gints.

What they did yesterday was play solid special teams and shut down run D...make no mistake that is what won the game. That is what is going to win games. I'll take my chances playing solid in those areas and winning games.

Who were the moron refs yesterday? Did they have to huddle after EVERY call for 5 minutes? How is it possible to huddle for 10 minutes to call a offsides penalty?

Take a look around the NFC, is there a scary team out there? I say no.

Well if you're a coctail waitress on a boat there is.

Ahman Green and Najeh Davenport both out for the year in Green Bay. Who will be running you say? Brett Favre... for his life.

Winner of this division could feasibly be 6-10 or 7-9.

The NFC had a great showing against the AFC this weekend going 5-0.

I don't care if they're not explosive as long as they're effective -- and yesterday they were not even remotely that. And if they keep ignoring the run up until the Giants game do they just magically expect it to be productive when they finally go to it? I think Reid tries it a couple of times, it doesn't work and then he says "I told you so" and goes back to throwing, because he's so stubborn.

Saw the Eagles game in Las Vegas. It was the first time I watched Football at 10am in a hotel that had all the games on in the sports betting area.

There were many Bolts fans complaining about every little penalty that was called. I admit it was an ugly game but you have to accept it and move on.

A far as the game, I expected little running from Andy Reid and got it. But his play calling cost additional points. With 15 seconds left in the half, either a field goal should have been kicked or a pass into the endzone for a possible TD. But no, the pass was thrown at the 5 yard line and time expired on the ensuing tackle.

At some point the luck may run out with Andy, but I will take it while it lasts.

Or take the money and run. The Vegas line for the game was Eagles favored by 3.5 pts., so SD was the winning bet. Or the better's win. xo

Part of the problem with the run game is most teams are now bringing a ton of pressure against Dmac. When the happens, Reid goes to screen passes and dump off passes for 4-7 yards.

Look at the yardage on sunday, that is what they were doing, a short passing game to offset the run. I would MUCH rather them do this than up the middle for a yard 1/2.

I also saw that he did try to go to a running game then adjusted to the sort pass when it wasnt working.

Make it 6-0 for the week, after last night's Falcons win over the Jets.

Well five of the six AFC teams that lost all have losing records, so it's not like the top tier teams were beaten. The Jets, Ravens, Browns and Titans all stink and the Chargers lost to the defending NFC champs in Philly. The Broncos lost a squeaker to the improved Giants in New York on last second TD.

If the Colts, Steelers and Patriots all lose the same weekend, then you've got some news.

AFC vs NFC, talk about the most overrated stat EVER.

Personally, i'd rather win every NFC game on the schedule and lose every AFC game.

Not to beat a dead horse but I heard this on the radio today (so I don't know how accurate it is) -- except for the SF game, which was a blowout early, the Eagles have tried back-to-back running plays exactly FOUR times all season.
PhillyFan
Look back at what this team did last year, they passed first, got a lead, then ran the ball.

While I agree they need to pay attention and get SOME balance, this IS A PASSING TEAM FIRST. I'm saying Reid needs to get some balance, he doesnt have to turn into a running team, just balance.

There is no magic number for this, but it's never going to be like Pitt.

Considering the run was not working against SD, he went to short passes that is just as good as running the ball.
Joe in Philly
This is unbelievable. Just discovered today: the Eagles blocked that field goal attempt that was returned for the game-winning score on Sunday... WITH ONLY TEN MEN ON THE FIELD! biggrin.gif biggrin.gif biggrin.gif
