We've got 35 players for opening week of Season 2 of Outsports NFL Pick 'Em contest. Last year, we had 20 for the first week! That number did grow as the season progressed, so hopefully we'll see the same trend this season.
Welcome to our newcomers, those who are playing for the first time-Maddog, LAKERSDABOMB, MCMikeNamara, ATLJock, Kennysf & Ronarchy.
To begin, 31 of 35 got off to a winning start by correctly picking the 49ers over the Giants. Only IUFan, jqueer, gp43 & LAKERSDABOMB have to scurry to dig themselves out of the early season hole!
Our Ballsy Prognosticator of the Week-Sportinlife, who has picked the underdog Lions, Saints, Seahawks and Falcons!
Overall, we've got a couple of lopsided results. Garnering the most support are the Dolphins and the Cowboys, though the overwhelming consensus probably has more to do with their lack of faith in their opponnents (Lions & Texans, respectively). The Lions (Brett4Fan, Sportinlife) and the Texans (Ronarchy, ATLJock) each got two Outsporters on their side. Only a bit more faith in the Falcons as only three players (Sportinlife, Cyd, gp43) think they will upset the Packers.
Four players (Maddog, MCMikeNamara, SpartyOn, Sportinlife) think the Raiders will be upset by the realigned Seahawks. And just five (PCC, gp43, Maddog, MCMikeNamara, Sportinlife) are praying the Saints will upset their new division rivals, the Bucs.
We are most closely divided on the Titans-Eagles tussle, with 19 taking the Titans and 16 electing the Eagles (alliteration is my friend!).
