As if this a-hole hasn't done enough to try and destroy the New England Patriots (while perhaps, ironically, helping to bond the team), Terry Glenn is, get this, SUING THE NFL FOR DISCRIMINATION! Glenn claims the NFL discriminated against him for a disability that prevented him from complying with the leagues substance abuse policy. Glenn's claimed disability is depression.

Glenn is seeking damages for lost employment, pain, suffering, humiliation, embarrassment and a damaged reputation.

Can you imagine the gall of this buffoon! Next he'll be seeking a share of the players playoff and Super Bowl winnings.

Terry Who?

This one is just begging for a Saturday Night Live skit!!!!

Terry Glenn is real cute and I will help him get over his depression.

Will he actually get a Super Bowl ring? God forbid!

Glenn was left off the playoff roster, so I don't think he gets a cut of the playoff money or the ring. I think the players can vote to give somebody a playoff share. For example, in the case of an injury to a valued player towards the end of the season and misses the playoffs. But I can't imagine Glenn being cut in. Though like I said, ironically Glenn's disruptive behavior may have actually helped Belichick and his team bond.

The Pats should make Glenn sue them for it.
Theo
Redsox, did you guys ever hear up there why Glenn was suspended the final time? I thought he and Bellichik had smoothed out their differences and all of a sudden, he's suspended again.
fenwayguy
Actually, Belichick had no patience for Glenn's self-serving little dramas. As in this very good article about how the team was managed, "Glenn mistakenly thought he was indispensable." When Belichick suspended him for insubordination, "the message got through. If you did something to hurt this team, you're gone."

George_vikingfan, of course you're right about Glenn not taking part in the Super Bowl and so not qualifying for a ring... I panicked there for a minute! Whew, thanks for the reassurance.

I just read on ESPN.com that Glenn is, in fact, due his share ($98,000) of the playoff money because he was on the active roster at the end of the season despite having been suspended. He will only get a ring if the team offers him one. "If they offer me one, I'll certainly accept it and keep it in my archives. It would be nice to get one", Glenn told the Boston Globe.

Very true, Terry. But think about how much nicer it would be to ACTUALLY FREAKIN' EARN ONE!!!!!! Regardless, if I were Mr. Glenn, I wouldn't be holding my breath. And am I the only one disturbed by the fact that this moron has "ARCHIVES"!!!

Delusional Glenn

He never really recovered from Bill Parcells referring to him as "She" did s/he? Didn't he get drafted on the insistence of the owner over the objections of the football staff? He was an unloved child who's acted out. Simple.

Look out Packer fans. ESPN is reporting that Green Bay is interested in obtaining Glenn. Glenn and Moss in the SAME division! Maybe the Bears could trade for Terrell Owens and the Lions could lure Keyshawn back to the NFC Central.

George -- I read a week or so back that the Pack might be interested in Glenn -- but I chose to ignore it -- plugged my ears, closed my eyes, and sang "lalalalalalala"

Well Bucky you can ignore no more! Glenn is a Packer. The Packers gave up a 4th round pick in this years draft and a conditional pick in the 2003 draft. Based on Glenn's performance, the pick can be no higher than a 2nd rounder and no lower than 4th round.

My sister dated Glenn for a while. When she heard he was going to Green Bay, she was ecstatic - because he would be out of New England. She's not a big fan.
fantomas
Cyd, are you saying your sister is a lesbian? JUST JOKING! But seriously, Glenn is a disaster from cornrow to toe. I don't like the Patriots at all, but they did win the Super Bowl in spectacular fashion without this loser and it's awful that they'll have to give him a dime of their bonus. If he had less talent, he would be out of football. With his "disability," however, he may not be able to stay away from the coke or crack pipe or whatever it is he's on, and THAT will save a lot of teams a lot of trouble.

Just had to pull up this very old thread. Did anybody else see Terry Glenn on ESPN's pregame show this morning and just want to hurl? I am so freakin sick of these morons who take absolutely no responsibility for anything that happens to them!

Terry-YOU are the one who failed a drug test. YOU are the one who skipped a follow up test and got YOURSELF suspended . YOU are the one who missed practices. YOU are the one who, according to most people, faked injuries and dogged it in practice. YOU are the one who went on a talk show and said, when asked if you wanted to play for the Pats, replied that you DID (past tense). And most importantly, YOU are the one who, as a result of all this infantile behavior, missed out on one of the greatest Super Bowl Cinderella stories of all time. So stop the whining already!

Even his ex-Patriot teammates said he quit on them. I put Eddie Kennison and him in the same boat: Quitters when things don't go their way.

Can I assume that the interview was conducted by one of those former players-turned-TV commentators who now just kiss the asses of current players, and not by a REAL journalist?

Nope -- missed it -- but I did see Terry Glenn on Fox's coverage of the Packer game -- and I'm as happy as a clam!

He IS cute, but he's too much of a mess, and probably a crook.
