It came to last night's game to determine our winner for the most exciting opening week of the NFL I can remember. As a group, we weren't all that great, a mere 322/560 for a .575 percent correct. But our leaders did us proud though! We were burned most by the Buccaneers, Cowboys and Ravens. And if it weren't for these upsets, our winner would have been undefeated!

Players are grouped together by record and then in order according to tiebreak. Pats won by 16 points. *indicates players who picked Steelers.

Kudos, 'Cock! Just don't don't get too Cocky; remember Cyd won Week 1 last year and look what happened to him! (Sorry Cyd!)

OUR RUNNERS UP
Must be willing to step in for our winner in case he is unable to fulfill his duties!

George, thanks for the kudos but you won't have to worry about this one week "success" going to my head after the inconsistency I had last season with this contest (not to mention my finish in this weekend's college pick em game but I won't even mention that ) ....it's still a blast just to participate and I guess I largely have the Dwayne Rudd/Chris Gardocki foolish penalty tandem to thank since I did pick the Chiefs to win (only after it was announced that Tim Couch would not play.

Bring on week 2 and let's see if Spurrier's genius continues to rub off here in DC....I also luckily won my fantasy league this week thanks to my 10th round pickup of Shane Matthews in the draft (who I started in lieu of Brian Griese) so this NFL season is off to an awesome start for me for more reasons that just the great games on Sunday....keep up the great work, George (as usual) -- and no I won't even mention the fate of your Vikes in Champaign this past weekend.
