Lions officially cut return specialist (as well as Heisman winner and Former Super Bowl MVP) Desmond Howard this afternoon...after his injury kept him from playing the final seven games last season, the writing was pretty much on the wall...Desmond has been a class act all his college and pro career and it's too bad it might be ending this way...
Crowell after being injured two seasons ago and never really coming back to full capacity was lame duck material...the cut of Germane Crowell signals that the Lions either HAVE to take Charles Rogers from MSU with their second pick or find a kick ass free agent (which really didn't work with Bill Schroeder OR Az-Hakim last year)....Hakim had some productivity before getting injured but is way too short to be effective....

Lord don't let the Lions draft Rogers. . . he has a chance to have a great career :-)

I had the chance to talk to Howard a few times, even before he won the Heisman, and your right he is a class act. He should retire now, the Heisman and Super Bowl ring makes for a great football career.
