Shouldn't that be "Bye Bye Bye Biotch?"
Well, with no Eagles game I guess I'll focus on the game between 0-4 Miami and 3-0 New England. A truly scintillating matchup.

Hmmm...who would win a game between the Dolphins and Temple?

But instead i'll get to see the "leathal weapon" brunell in action on sunday night...

When Gibbs was hired, the one thing we all said was, \"Well, at least we won't beat ourselves anymore.\" And now we've beaten ourselves three out of four. In Cleveland, there were false start penalties. Personal foul penalties. Blown coverages. Long punt returns against us. Complaints about the audio connection to the quarterback. It's blasphemous, but we have no choice but to say it now: Joe Gibbs is actually making Spurrier a sympathetic figure.

As usually, big booty, good job.. great analysis.
Are Moss and any RB on that team "Leathal Weapons"?
stinger85

Yes, as you'll see. Moss has scored in 8 consecutive games. T.O. is catching him, of course he's getting some help from the refs with those TD "catches".

Talk to me in week 10 when the Eagles playoff hopes go down the drain when Westbrook finally gives out. You'll be begging for any RB then, even one with a drug habit. But hey, I hear Ricky Williams is trying to come back so maybe you can pick him up.

Let's talk about another big story this week - Finally Gruden "gets it" and starts Chris Simms at QB. This is about a season too late. Atlanta appears to be running away with the division at this point (debateable). This is a move that should have occured two weeks ago. The future of this franchise is not Brad Johnson. Maybe Brad should retire and go to FSU and coach the fundamentally horrible Chris Rix. Oh wait PrettyBoy Rix, you have already been replaced by Wyatt Sexton.
In other news Joe Gibbs f*cking sucks. The outrageously flawed posts by PCC after Joe was rehired have proven to be completely bogus. PCC, he is not a God. Can you say "dead money"? Get used to those words for the next three years. And before you try to counter my post with some other inaccuracy like you have posted in the past (like the BS you posted about the Redskins being the only NFL team that had no players cross the picket line during the last NFL players strike), please tell me why you picked Tampa over Washintgon on the NFL Pick'Em contest here on OutSports on Week 1?

Actually what i was thinking... Gibbs can't seem to get a play sent into the offense in time... Did they have headsets when he coached way back when?
That could very well be the problem.. all these new fangled computers, headsets, helmet headsets.. that must have the old man confused.. either that or his old coaching staff is just plain stupid.
I mean we all know that your QB is a "leathal weapon".... just needs the play in before 3 seconds left on the clock...

Perhaps age has caught up with the old fellow and he has been away from the game for a long time. When Dick Vermeil came back to coach the Rams, it took a him a while to get adjusted. The one difference is that Vermeil brought with him a few younger guys to mix in with the old on the coaching staff. I think Gibbs brought most of his old crew back and that doesn't help.

Wonder which, if any of the undefeated teams will fall this weekend. Logically it should be the Patriots if motivation has anything to do with it: the undefeated team with the lowest average winning margin against the team with the most to gain in their division with a win. But has Miami fallen so far that they can't get it up for any reason? Should be the best game this weekend, which virtually guarantees that it wont be broadcast in my region or I'll have to miss it for some reason. Just as well. Hope NE takes it.
Joe in Philly
Oct 8 2004, 08:54 AM
I think Miami has fallen that far. New England would have to suffer a serious letdown to lose it. Their motivation is to win their 19th consecutive game and break the record. And CBS is showing us Browns-Steelers, by the way. wink
I still want to hear about mdphl's Chicago trip that PF mentioned in the Week 4 thread.

Take a look at the San Francisco 49ers right now. Without a shread of doubt, the worse team in the league. Bar none. They have players salaries totaling a little over $78mm. Of that $78mm, over $28mm of it is being allocated to players who are no longer on their roster .
Now, imagine the current 49er team in burgandy and gold and what do you have? You have a preview of what the DeadSkins will look like in the forseeable future. A team destroyed by their midget owner who tried to buld the team through free agency, instead of through the draft. What did we hear on this board for the past year?
I guarantee you that Dan Snyder will "become" a much better owner with Joe Gibbs on the sidelines.
Ultimately, whichever coach looks across the field at Joe Gibbs, is already outcoached.
I've heard of them and they certainly are good coaches. They just aren't Joe Gibbs. Even among good coaches, there's a best and Joe Gibbs is it.
Hogwash (pun intended). The mistakes this veteran team is making should have been worked out in preseason - that's what preseason is for! Poor clock management, penalties, mental mistakes, ill-advised replay challenges, and squandered timeouts I could go on and on. With a roster full of veterans, a glorious hand-picked coaching staff, why can't the immortal/best coach of all time, Joe Gibbs, overcome this?
In other news, and I am getting a few weeks ahead on this, it looks as though the Eagles have caught a break, as the Ravens only offensive weapon will likely be suspended for the Baltimore/Philadelphia game. Congratulations to Andy Reid on his upcoming shutout.
Memo to Ray Lewis - Next time you agree to wear a microphone for one of the networks, don't whine like a little girl on the sidelines after getting your ass kicked all night. Dude, a second string guard pancaked your ass during one play. You were miked up for the game and kept complaining that you were being double teamed. Most of the time you were being played man - I guess that's what you can expect out of an education from "The U"! How tired is that getting?

Fantasy Football Manager's biggest nightmare is the "Game Time Decision"! Ugh! Is Stephen Davis starting in Carolina? I've got Foster going in my starting lineup (he's been great for me BTW), but if Davis is back and Foster is only getting 8 carries, I'm dead meat! AHHHHHH!!!!!
I'm also quite nervous about the Vikes-Texans game. Vikes road record is worse than Billy Joel's. And missing Bennett and Onterrio Smith, who has also been terrific in the Vikes O, makes rookie Moore the starter. Plus Texans have won 2 in a row and are young and hungry. Plus the Vikes proclivity for losing to "bad" teams. Last year they lost to Chargers, Giants, Raiders and Cardinals (the league's 4 worst teams!)

Hey I picked the Cowgirls too, only because I dislike the G-MEN as well and figured a 3-2 record would separate them from the Eagles a bit. The Cowgirls ridiculous personal foul penalties did them in. Parcells should punish them by making the team write 1000 times I will not commit personal fouls. Oh well, at least I wasn't dumb enough to put crow on my menu.

Bill Parcells gave that game away! It's early in the 4th quarter, he's trailing only by 6, and he goes for it on 4th and one inside his OWN territory? Pathetic! The Giants had a short drive for a field goal and then put it away. They should have punted and tried to get NY stuck deep and gotten better field position for the next scoring attempt. Utterly stupid.
So I guess the Giants are for real but they need to beat a well-coached good team who isn't shorthanded due to injury before they get any respect from me. That hasn't happened yet in any of their wins. I think the Lions are more for real than the Giants right now.
Congrats to the Patriots for the record-breaking win.

So another one bites the dust in the land of the undeafeated. Seattle had a commanding lead of 17 with 6 minutes remaining only to let the Rams come back and win. I don't think Davis not playing was going to affect me for THIS week (or Marshall's "relative" off day), as I had Bulger, Andre Johnson, Keary Colbert, Antonio Gates, and Lee Evans
Jacksonville needs to find out where their defense went, cause it wasn't on the flight with them to San Diego as the Chargers throw a 34 spot on them ... don't look now the San Diego is 2nd in the league in points per game
