Not that there's anything wrong with it, but the Browns released running back Ben Gay on Wednesday. ''Ben Gay showed flashes of the talents we knew he possessed, he gave us versatility with his running and kick returning abilities and he helped play a role on last year's team,'' said Davis, whose team just had too many backs after drafting William Green in the first round.

The Browns now have Green, James Jackson, and Jamel White. Gay is talented enough that he should have no problem signing on with another group of large, sweaty men. We hear San Francisco may have an opening.

What if the guy's name was "Black" and he was kicked off the White Sox? Would it be funny to say something like "The White Sox just got a little whiter, getting rid of the last Black on their team. We hear he's going to Atlanta where he can get as much watermelon as a Black can eat. Just watch out for those guys in white sheets! You don't want to CROSS them!" Just a little humor. Yeah, right.
