Ken Caminiti has been sentenced for his arrest and guilty plea to possession of cocaine. The link below goes to the Houston Chronicle article about Ken and his guilty plea. While I wish him well, I find it interesting that the other two individuals who were arrested at the same time in the hotel room, and plead guilty to the same charges received much harher sentences. While there may be addtional factors, on the surface is appears to be another example that justice is blind, unless you can hire a good lawyer.

Sorry, the Chronicle did not put the full article from the paper on the web site. One defendant got 3yrs probation and $3,000 fine, no mention of deferred adjudication and the other got 8 months in the state jail.

I am glad this part is behind Cammy. There may
have been factors we don't know which affected
sentence. Was he caught handling the drugs, or
was he just in the room?
Let's not forget the community service Cammy has
already given to the community of Houston. Like
anyone, I'm sure the judge took that into
consideration. What have the other two done on
the scale Cammy had done in that regard? Also,
the Judge had some harsh words for Cammy. I feel
that onlyh shows the Judge wants Cammy to get
better, so he gave him a challenge.
I wish him well. Gooooooo Cammy.. Beat this thing
and get back to baseball, as a coach, front
office, etc... we'll be waiting...

I simply find it hard to fathom how someone with a coke addiction could have remained so "full figured." Every one I've ever known with that issue ranged from thin to super cut. Does this mean rehab will send Cammy into Bruce Vilanch levels of heft?

I never thought I would see the names of Vilanch and Caminiti in the same post....and I hope I never do again.
Cam, we all wish you the best. Good luck, man, you still have a lot of fans out here.
