Stinger - you think this is bad - you should be glad you don't live here. Our local sports talk radio station (WIP) could be nicknamed All Eagles, All The Time. Although they do talk about the other sports teams here, I'd say 60% of the talk during January to August is still about the Eagles.

Two Eagles preseason games will be televised nationally.
The Birds and their new wide receiver, Terrell Owens, will face the Baltimore Ravens, the team that wanted Owens, on Aug. 20 at Lincoln Financial Field, in a Friday game to be televised on CBS at 8 p.m.
The following Thursday, Aug. 26, the Eagles will host the Pittsburgh Steelers - and former Eagles running back Duce Staley - in a game to be shown on ESPN at 8 p.m.
The Birds will open the preseason with a trip to Foxboro, Mass., to face the New England Patriots during the week of Aug. 12-16, and close their exhibition schedule at the New York Jets the week of Sept. 2-5. The dates and times of those games will be announced later.

OK OK, Mr. NCAA Basketball man! You got that bracket going on there huh?
stinger85
Mar 26 2004, 01:20 PM
Actually the bracket isn't PF's fault. See, he has a pet monkey and sometimes it gets ahold of his computer. So when you're reading posts from PhillyFan you have to consider who is writing it. Is it:
a) Sober PhillyFan (almost never)

Drunk PhillyFan (likely)
c) Sober Monkey (depends on if PF locked up the Molson)
d) Drunk Monkey (explains PF's NCAA bracket)
There are subtle differences, but after awhile you can tell which "PhillyFan" wrote which posts.
This explains why so many of his posts were single letter entries... then the rest of the monkeys, oops I mean Iggle fans, joined in.

Note: I think I read some where that TO had 11 drops last season, 3rd most in the NFL. I'll try to find the article.
stinger85
Mar 30 2004, 06:25 PM
Yes, TO had 11 drops, Thrash had only 6. Looks like McNabb's completion percentage will continue to remain low.
stinger85
Mar 30 2004, 06:34 PM
Here's an article, but not the one I was looking for. But it talks about how Owens' drops more balls than PhillyFan after a couple Molsons.
QUOTE
Owens is at his best after the catch. The problem is actually making the catch. He doesn't have great hands, and has come up with alligator arms too often in recent years, especially on passes from Jeff Garcia that were a little off target.
The trouble is, Donovan McNabb isn't any more accurate than Garcia. How long will the T.O./D-Mac honeymoon last? Just as intriguing will be Owens' reaction to the fans in Philadelphia, who would boo their own mother if she dropped a pass.
I'm looking forward to the Moss vs. Owens comparison again next season. Moss won the battle easily this year. Will the Eagle's make the outcome any different? I doubt it!!

But how many balls were thrown to each? I daresay that Owens has gotten -- and will get -- open more easily than Thrash.

Gee Stinger, you make such a compelling comparison between Trash and T.O. Let's see would I rather have 11 dropped passes with 80 receptions for 1102 yards and 9 TDs, or 6 dropped passes with 49 receptions for 558 yards and 1 TD.
stinger85
Mar 31 2004, 03:03 PM
I'd rather have 111 receptions for 1,632 yards and 17 TDs, but we can't all have the best receiver in football on our team.

When Thrash goes into the hall of fame, is it as an eagle or foreskin?

OK kids, i've seen 2 rumors.
Welborne and the first for the eagles to move up to SF's pick (16?).
Corey Simon and the first for chicago's 14th.
I hear that Simon is going to be looking for big money at the end of the year. This guy is solid and any trade for him would be wrong.
I hear they really like the kid outta Oregon St at RB.
Personally i'd like to see them use the 1st on a MLB, OLB, or the best CB on the board.
