Where's the Simon rumor coming from? I hadn't heard that and find it hard to believe. Then again, the way the Eagles keep a tight lid on things, who knows?

I know it's lame equating the skills of the Eagles to that of Girl Scouts. The Girl Scouts can at least sell cookies. The Eagles can....hmmmm....ummmm...little help here...

Does that make the Cubs and Red Sox the laughing stock of MLB?
Or Dan Marino the laughing stock of NFL Quaterbacks?

Oh please, the closest thing any poke fan has to the "Glory Days" gone by.. is playing in AZ right now. Or a nice drive in Downtown Dallas to pick up some smack and a date.
As far as laughing stock goes... well.. i'd say that is Quincy Carter's QB abilities. Or perhaps this years draft... Or is it parcells blonde hair? Jerry's Face Lift? The on again, off again fans? Well, depending on the record. That stupid cowboy guy on the sidelines who should be beaten to death?

Some Eagle history...
- The Eagles are the fifth team in the Super Bowl era to suffer the frustration of three consecutive conference title game losses, joining Oakland (twice, in 1968-70, in 1973-75), the L.A. Rams (1974-76) and Dallas (1980-82). But Philadelphia is the only member of that ignominious bunch to lose more than one of those games at home.
- Philadelphia is the first team in league history to earn the No. 1 seed in its conference in consecutive years and fail to reach the Super Bowl.
- Eagles head coach Andy Reid is the first NFL coach to win 11 or more games four seasons in a row but not get to a Super Bowl in that stretch. Making his pain a little worse, in the past 24 years, only four home teams have lost an NFC title game by more than 10 points. The Eagles own two of those, falling 27-10 to Tampa Bay in January 2003 and 14-3 to Carolina this year. (Philadelphia lost 26-21 at St. Louis in January 2002.)
...it'd be so fun to watch them collapse again, but they will have to make the playoffs first.

How about the rumor that Eddie George may be headed to Philadelphia? Lots of discussion of the local sports radio about this possibility.

Why would they do that when they have Buckhalter and Westbrook? And aren't they relieving Westbrook of his return duties? That is a mistake. He's been a good return man.

Sting - you hit the nail on the head. The thinking is that Westbrook could continue his return duties if they have a solid third in the rotation. Plus, whether it's legitimate or not (certainly true last year) - there is general thinking that Westbrook, because of his size, has greater potential for injury.
George has lost a step but the speculation on the radio is that he would be willing to come for something like 2.1 Million for a few years.

Now hold up everyone.
Eagles special teams were solid with mitchell, he just didnt have the speed of westbrook. You dont need westbrook returning punts (risking injury). Westbrook did not all of a sudden bring the return game around, it was always there.
I've always like Eddie, but he's a work horse who's been used. I really think think that Blunt, i mean buck can carry the load of the power running game. Westbrook to get the screens and dump off passes. Then give him the same carries as last year.
Unless one of these guys gets hurt, george would get very very few carries.
MD, is that 2.1 mil per year or the life of the contract?

damn...never checked back on this. I see my boys are taking some shots here. I'm gonna be laughin when Dallas wins another bowl before the Eagles with their first. Ya know, they should have designed the Linc to look like a double wide trailer because when I went to see Dallas play Philly last year...you couldn't squeeze enought white trash into that stadium. By the way, when your team hosts two NFC Championship games...One in the last year of their stadium and one in their brand new stadium and can't come away with a win in one of them....that to me is the laughing stock of the NFL...PERIOD.

Here's a nice profile of
Terrell Owens -- his major fundraising cause is Alzheimers disease, because his grandmother has it. He testified before a Senate subcommittee last year. A timely profile considering recent events.
