A Mike Wallace interview with Ricky Williams was featured on last night’s abbreviated edition of 60 Minutes. Williams didn’t do himself any favors. He came off looking like a conflicted and self-absorbed little tart.

Wasn't he on 60 Minutes before? I assume it was a rerun.

Yes Joe, it was a rerun. Next week starts the new season of "60 Minutes."

The first half was a repeat of last year's interview. The second half was a follow-up that Wallace did from Miami. He dropped a bomb on Williams by airing out his finances on TV. Apparently, Williams is down to only about $230,000 now. That's quite a fall from grace--considering that his first NFL check (at age 21) was for $3.6 million....

I say give Ricky a break. Granted he did a really stupid selfish thing, But compare dropping out of the NFL to smoke pot and find yourself to getting caught up in a murder--or beating your wife-- its nothing. It seems like battery and wife beating are acceptable compared to Ricky's spaced out selfishness. I say give him another chance!

I saw that interview. I like him even more now. I wish ppl would get off his back for "abandoning the team". He made a personal life-changing decision and I applaud him for it.
Injuries happen all the time, the Dolphins should've had a viable back-up ready to take his place.
Joe in Philly
Injuries can't be predicted or planned. If he wasn't happy with football, he had plenty of time in the off-season to decide to quit. Not only did he quit on his team, but he quit on them just before the season. It's not that easy to get a "viable" backup even if he gave them a whole off-season so they could at least draft someone, let alone the way he quit on them.
