McNabb was so bad yesterday I thought I was watching Quincy Carter. Someone should have told him: "Hey McNabb - throw to the guys in the white jerseys".
I assumed that the Cowgirls and Cards would battle it out for last place in the NFC East, looks like the eaglets are wanting to join in!

You are right about that -- they looked awful. Obviously I am a huge Egles fan and have been since I was a boy -- can't recall 2 back to back games where they played this badly in many years. McNabb lost his touch (to say the least), the receivers can't catch, special teams play is marginal, the new punter -- well, I suspect he may soon be the old punter.
Maybe the bye week will help.

Does McNabb have some sort of undiagnosed, or undisclosed, injury? He's not this bad of a QB.
I'm thinking of Kurt Warner and his non-Super Bowl years with the Rams. He'd look awful for the first few weeks of the season and, then, mid season, they'd finally announce he had a hand injury or something that hadn't disclosed to the training staff.
McNabb can't be operating at 100%.

CITT - it is like the Kerry Collins syndrome - I recall when he was at Carolina toward the end he developed a "deer in the headlights" look.
Also important to note that McNabb got married during the off season and his Mother AND wife both come to the games and sit in the box together. That could be traumatizing the poor guy

He might try bulking up his mind instead of his body during the offseason--studying the playbook and practicing with his receivers more instead of building up his body. It's one thing if he's bulking up to withstand hits when he's running with the ball, but he's NOT RUNNING. This stems in part from his own stubbornness in not wanting to be known as a running QB, and from the playcalling.

Maybe, as I've suggested before, he's just overweight, like a large percentage of the NFL. Watching Australia Rules football, it hits me every time how much faster the game is, and more fun to watch. Not to mention fewer interruptions - commercial, injury related or otherwise. Amazing since they play without any padding. I'm sure the rules are different to cut down on injuries but they make some pretty rough contact anyhow. Personally I think they should have a weight limit in football like wrestling: safer for the players, more fun for the fans.

I think Theory #2 is more plausible than #1. The comparison to Kerry Collins is likely inapplicable because, at Carolina, not to put to fine a spin of this: he was a drunk.

It was demoralizing watching what passed for football by the Eagles. This bye week is exactly what they need. The injuries of Dawkins and Taylor are exposing the defense.
As far as McNabb goes the number one thing he needs to practice is passing, passing, passing. Did I say passing? All the off season weight training and running drills etc. are not going to help his accuracy.
Finally Andy Reid needs to change his gameplan when it's evident it is not worrking. There were only 11 designed running plays in the game. They need twice that amount to keep pressure off of McNabb.

Sorry folks the clear problem right now is that McNabb has not been the same since the injury. Every pass he throws is either above the head or at the heels.
How do you fix that? RUN THE F'IN BALL. Draw the d in and set up the play action pass.
We sat in the endzone of this last game and had a great view of the field.. people are open.
Against NE, they only ran the ball 11 times to the RB's all game.. yeah they were down, but even when the game was close they didnt attempt it.

It looks like the "fans" are farther away from the field, does that make it harder to throw batteries at the players?

This article in today's Phila. Daily News speculates on whether McNabb's bulking up has caused him to be so out of balance and uncoordinated when throwing. Bonus material: quotes from my boyfriend Jeremy Roenick, who bulked up last season and now says it was a mistake.
Bonus material 2: McNabb shirtless on the back cover -- note: this won't be available tomorrow

Everyone forget the bulking up theory...
Fact is, Dmac never really had to win games. Bmitch gave them field position and that D caused turnovers, held the scoring down, and put the eagles in a position to win many times...
right now that is gone... much like when he went down last year... the eagles O had to step up. It has not.. not to mention they pass the ball 75% of the time so far.. idiots.

Why does it seem that Andy Reid does not like to run the football? He PHSYICALLY looks like the kind of coach who'd enjoy smashmouth football (he also looks like the kind of coach who could rip you a new one at the drop of a hat, but I digress).

One problem with your assumption: The Cardinals are now in the NFC West.
Two games is too early to push the panic button, but the Eagles have played poorly enough for there to be plenty cause for concern.

And you call REDSKINS FANS myopic?
It's not like either team has reached its peak just yet. The Skins haven't played as well as 3-1, but the Eagles have put ONE good game together. ONE. One game does not bring you back into Super Bowl contention, and four games do not make the Redskins a playoff contender. This game could still be a very ugly contest.

PF, PF, PF, you poor deluded fool. Even you have to admit that the Bills played horribly but were still in the game until the touchdown run at the end of the game.
But the Eagles did play better than they did the first two weeks. But that's not saying much...
All the things that I wrote about before the season started are still true. They won with defense and their defense is much weaker than it has been and they have one offensive weapon and he's coming off a broken leg. Their running game is bad and their wide receivers are worse. Winning a game against the Bills doesn't change that. And it will still be true next Monday, regardless of what happens on Sunday.
