So, this week it's Philadelphia vs. Washington.

A brief reminder of some comments made earlier this year:

I guarantee you that Dan Snyder will "become" a much better owner with Joe Gibbs on the sidelines.

Ultimately, whichever coach looks across the field at Joe Gibbs, is already outcoached.

I've heard of them and they certainly are good coaches. They just aren't Joe Gibbs. Even among good coaches, there's a best and Joe Gibbs is it.

So, we're patiently waiting some expert analysis from PCCOS on this week's marquee matchup.

It's nice to see that PCC and PF aren't the only ones to repeat the same nonsense week after week after week.
PhillyFan
dear pcc,

Be a man a take your beating, it's coming. About 2 hour north on the 95. Idiot.

Love,

PF

PS Bring on the "leathal weapon" who rides the bench!
PhillyFan
yooooo hoooooo pcc.....

calling pcc.....

pcc...... come take your beating...... pcc...

hello....
Joe in Philly
He's probably back in "Gibbs is a genius" mode since Ramsey is going to start on Sunday...never mind that Ramsey should've been starting all year.
PhillyFan
PCC, please hop on 95 and drive 2 hours north with your overrated coach, overrated coaching staff, and under performing players.

there is a "special treat" waiting for you bitches in philly.

I think we're all still waiting for some evidence to back up these claims, or a retraction.

Speaking of repeating the same nonsense week after week, isn't it about time you do your "Vikings will win, someone will have 100 yards rushing, someone will have 100 yards receiving" post for this week? Oh the hypocrisy....

PCC, come out come out where ever you are...

Your 4 skins are about to get snipped....

yoooooo....hooooooo.... put down the posted and doll of the most overrated coach in the NFL...

How sad an pathetic will it be when the EAGLES shut down your running game?

Come on little boy... we need to hear from the "respected" poster...

PCC please respond to PF so he can get back to his "Gibbs is a bitch" routine. Pretty please?
PhillyFan
This is the best part of the MNF game.

4skins... are 5 games back with 7 to play.
Pokes are 5, literally 6 back with 7 to play.
Warner is benched for the gints.

Funny how the "best" coaches in the NFC east are looking up at everyone.

PS Joe Gibbs is an over rated little bitch.

Once again, where is the "repsected" carpetbagger?
coyoteugly
Well, it's Wednesday and Mr. "I'm here every week" is nowhere to be found. Shocker!!

Who would have figured?
PhillyFan
Atl Vs. the Gints is a match up i want to see.

I have not seen Atl play all year. Plus, they have the closest record to the eagles so far. Atl is 5-1 in conf games which is the first tie breaker for non division teams who dont play eachother.
Joe in Philly
I'm tempted to pick the Giants to win this week...I'll have to think about it. That's the ONLY game this week featuring two teams with winning records -- every other game is between a winner and a loser or two sub-.500 teams.

The continuing lack of production from Westbrook is worrying me. Take out that one 40-yard pass and he didn't get a lot of yards. I thought Levens was running the ball better on Monday. I don't know if it was the types of plays called for each or what.
PhillyFan
This is the only problem with westrook, he's a slasher. he's not a run up the middle bruiser type of back. Dallas has a speedy D, hence shutting down his running style.

They have gotten away from some of the areas that Westbrook is good with... the dump pass and making people miss... misdirection plays to let him run with the ball.

There is one thing i have not seen the eagles run this year... a screen pass. They did not do it on monday, they did not do it against Pitt. Reid has been calling some terrible games lately. He runs when it's long, he passes on 3rd and 1 every single time. Completely drives you insane.

In a way, Reid was bailed out on Monday by dmac actually scrambling around, then chucking the ball down the field. That type of Offense is not going to work against the better teams.
RazorbackTX
GO SKINS!!!

I wonder what PF thinks about Gibbs....
PhillyFan
I think Gibbs is a good coach. However the game has changed, the players have changed, you can't hold onto players anymore. Vermeil learned that you have to re-tool your coaching when he came back. Look at his teams now as compared to the philly team he built.

Going into every year, everyone in the NFC wonders how well the 4skins will do. They always have the talent to put up 10 wins. In the last years they just fall on their face. I've stopped worrying about them.

Danny boy has tried to... buy a bunch of old free agents... didnt work.

Bring in spurrier, didnt work.

Bring in a bunch of younger free agents and over pay them... didnt work.

When you looked at this team coming into the season, they had 2 years to win. Then they have to start cutting because they are salary cap dead. What Gibbs needed to do was start over. There is just something wrong with his core of players that they can't win. They dont have the mojo.

I'm not sure anyone can succeed with Danny boi as the owner. Instant success just does not happen. He will never accept that.

All this, and gibbs is a big ole bitch.
Jim at Outsports
Snyder's big mistake was canning Schottenheimer after only 1 season. He started 0-5 then went 8-3 down the stretch and was building an interesting team. But Danny Boy wanted the flash of Spurrier, so they rebuild again, then do it this year with Gibbs.

Gibbs can still coach and it's a mistake to write him off after one season; remember that Vermeil struggled in his first 2 years with the Rams and people said the game had passed him by; he then wins the SB in year 3.
PhillyFan
His team is cap dead after next year. Everyone knows this. Both Snyder and Gibbs made a fatal mistake, they tried to win this year.

Every team has a core group. You build from there. Gibbs' core has never won. They won't ever win. From that core, you grow the team. Some leave some stay. You take your lumps now and build a team. Get some guys who are hungry and want to win. You have not seen that from the 4skins in a long time.

That is exactly what Green is doing here in AZ. I guarantee you that team wins their division next year. Why? Cause he is building his team, not the owners. Everything i see from the cardz this year reminds me of Fat Asses first year in philly. Scrap and claw and come so close to winning most of your games.

Jim at Outsports:

Joe Gibbs is going to re-retire in 2, 3, or 4 years leaving the game a lot different than his first retirement, when he went out a winner. Who's fault is this?

Daniel Snyder's fault, plain and simple. Joe Gibbs has been handicapped since he signed back on. He should have been smart enough to see this before making his decision.

Please read this article which explains the Redskins, er, Deadskins situation better than anything I can write:

Spending now will cost Snyder later

PF is (err, gag, choke, am I saying this?) dead on right about this, and both he and I have been saying this since Day One of the rebirth of Christ himself, Joe Gibbs. It's great to have blind faith and loyalty in a team, but it's more prudent to be willing to face the reality of the situation.

As each week passes, the window of opportunity closes farther and farther for this team. This team was built to win now, and when it recovers from salary cap hell (If Snyder ever learns), it's doubtful Joe Gibbs will still be coaching. The question is "Did Joe Gibbs tarnish his legacy by coming back if the Redskins don't rebound?" I say "yes"!

It's now Thursday.

Still, where is Mr. "Regular" Poster, PCCOS??

Com'on Jim at Outsports, where's your buddy, the "respected" poster on this board? Where's his take on the Eagle/Redskin game?

I am waiting for the expert's opinion.

Come out, come out, where ever you are...PCCOS FRAUD
PhillyFan
yooooo hooooo PCC... come out from under your rock.

I realize you piss ass team lost AGAIN last week... come on... 5 games down....

Come on little carpet bagger... come on.. you can do it.

Mr outsports are you going to defend your hiding "most respected" i know nothing about football poster?

Gibbs is a bitch.

It is now thursday, PCC Did mommy ground you?

Actually this is GREAT, since we've heard about the great joe gibbs all offseason, all of pre-season, then for about a 3 weeks of the season... should the carpetbagger have his team win on sunday... he will be unable to show his face... without a laugh in his face from the wonderful eagles fan.

maybe we can post a poll of where PCC is?

Hiding under his bed?
Eating milk and cookies?
Grounded?
Playing in the street?
Playing with matches in the garage?
Honeymoon with his gibbs doll?
Attending the "most respected" poster conference?
PhillyFan
Ah the incredible world of the bandwagon outsports poster.

Where is PCC to take his lumps? I mean, i've only had to read about 10-15 articles in the offseason about how GREAT Gibbs is, or should i say was? Now, when his team doesnt win (much like the buc fanz) no where to be found. This week it's time to play the BIG BOYS in the NFC. This is your Superbowl.

I actually do feel the 4skins have a shot in this game. They play the type of game that gives the birds fits. If Portis can get some yards and the D keeps the Eagles from scoring early.. this becomes anyones game to win.
PhillyFan
In the Absense of our lil sting sting....

Some Vike RB will get 125 yards rushing and a few td's

the pepper will throw for 3td's and 300 yards.

the vikes will win.
stinger85
You left off the most important one...Burleson getting 100 yards receiving and his TD.
hockeyTom
This Ram-hater is loving the Buffalo game. 37-17 Buffalo in the 4th. Go Bills. And lets go Hawks too.
Joe in Philly
Rams came up really lame.

The Eagles are really mediocre today. That's upgraded from the first half when they were putrid. Penalties, ineptitude, lousy Andy Reid play-calling (they were running well with Westbrook and went away from it after the first drive -- so typical of Reid to go away from the running game). Hard to judge the defense considering how utterly pathetic the Deadskins' offense is, but they shut down the run very well.

The Bengals actually did a pretty good job against the Steelers offense, but their own offense was smacked down in the second half.
PCC
I hate Joe Gibbs.
phillyrunner
Amazing, maybe now PCC will get a break since he has done a 180 on Joe Gibbs. I mean, PF are you gonna slam the poor guy after his team and coach is cooked and he admits defeat? biggrin.gif

The Eagles turned a nailbiter into a rout of sorts it was only a matter of time. T.O. got his touchdown so he will be ok for a week.

BTW only 2 more T.O. TDs till Andy Reid in tights time, I can't wait. rolleyes.gif

Dear PhillyRunner,

PCC is a carpetbaggin bitch! I didn't hear about Gibbs for 8 months for him to run away at his "superbowl". Reid outcoached the bitch gibbs on the last TD to put it away.

Love

PF

PS PCC dont show your face around here again, be a f**king man.

Can we stop with the PCC commentary? As much as I know how irrational his football opinions have been, it's really getting tiresome.

Looking at my Pick'em picks -- most of the games I lost were either reasonable guesses/close games or in the case of the Rams, a team that was unexpectedly pathetic. But if anyone can explain why I picked the Saints to beat the Broncos, please let me know. eek! rolleyes.gif

Speaking of the pick'em I actually cracked double digits this week! Woo Hoo! Plus I'm ahead of my "arch-rival" Cattledog this week and only 1 pont behind overall.

No. I'm sure like most, PCC will be back when the redskins ever win. Then go away when they lose, then come around when they win. Then post some idiotic article in the offseason about how great they will be. Then hide, then come back...

You get the picture.

But hey thats ok, he's Mr Outsports "most respected" poser...i mean poster.

Really tho, i'm onto week 12, and a win vs the gints clinches the division.

PA Governor Ed Rendell (a HUGE Eagles fan) has said that if it's Eagles/Stillers he will ask the NFL to move the SuperBowl to State College, PA to play in Penn State's 110,000 capacity stadium.

Yeah, they'll get right on that.

Nice sentiment, though.
PhillyFan
WAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYY to early to talk of the supe...

I tried to pay a little bit of attention to the Falcons yesterday, not impressed.

What is Denny Green thinking? Benching his QB for King? I understand that he's trying to send a message to his team, but that was TERRIBLE. The NFC West is the worst Division in football hands down. The cards had a shot to win it.

The Big Mc and Big Ben dueling it out along the turnpike.

The TO(wel) and comPlexico Buress providing the commentary as well as the long TD's. Gotta luvit.

Actually, this isn't a bad idea, except for the State College part. Philly or Pittsburgh would be better choices. Jacksonville is absolutely a horrible choice for the Super Bowl. Oh no, I have nothing against the city of Jacksonville, per se. They just have no hotel rooms.

The NFL has no business putting the Super Bowl in a town the size of Jacksonville. The city does not have enough hotel rooms, thus they are bringing in five cruise ships to dock on the downtown waterfront. Imagine paying $300 a night (four-night minimum) for one of those little cabins on a cruise ship, and the darn boat doesn’t sail anywhere. There are not enough restaurants, attractions beyond the game, etc.

Jax is just not big enough to be hosting the country’s greatest sporting spectacle, plus it doesn’t seem right that a city that can’t sell out its own home games during the regular season should be rewarded with the league’s championship game.

I guess my 15-1 is the biggest win of the year, right? It boiled down to the tie-breaker, but biggest # of games so far.
