Coyoteugly, read a little closer.  My scorn was not directed at Favre -- that would be heartless.  Instead, my ire is directed at the media, who deserve no sympathy.  They are lower than dirt.
I read your original post. If there is someone who isn't moved by this story... If you have a bite to chew with the media why not fire on the endless Jamal Lewis hype, the endless Bill Parcells hype, the endless crap we're hearing about Indianapolis. My father passed away as well. There's no f**king way I would have been able to play a game the day after he died. What Favre has done is unbelievable. I dogg a lot of players on these boards. I do not dogg Brett Favre. You can show me story after story about this and I will respect what he has done.

If I have a problem with Favre it's only with Madden and his relentless praise of the guy - ((before the death of his father)). To listen to Madden, it's a live broadcast of a rim job.

Wasn't Green Bay Packer Kabeer Gbaja Biamila's mother killed in a car accident or something last year and he played the next game?

While I admire Favre for playing right after his father's death, I feel 50% of the remaining NFL players probably would have made the same choice he did. It is the media who has gone into overkill to build Favre up as doing something no one else would or could have done.
