There should be some good games this week with some divisional matchups.

Minnesota should bounce back and beat Chicago, especially with the Bears secondary injured. Moss will notch his first 100 yard game of the season.

Philly could be poised to have a letdown against the Lions. The Lions will be on turf in their dome and with their speed they may be able to stretch the field against the Eagles.

Green Bay at Indy could be interesting as both will probably be throwing a lot. Indy because they are without James and the Pack because they'll be playing from behind.

Fat Sapp faces his old team.

MNF features the Cowboys at the Skins. If the Giants can pull off 7 turnovers for the Skins, just think what that Dallas D will do. How much room will clear up on that bandwagon when Gibbs starts 1-2?

Sting, while that may be true it's just as likely that the Lions will come down off of the euphoria of a 2-0 start. I don't believe they have gone 3-0 since the 80s so there is not much in their recent history to show they will do so now.

We will see if the Lions are for real; it's a great setup for them: at home playing against a team coming off an emotional Monday nighter.

Is it just me or is Sting starting to steal my lines such as... Fat Sapp...

Oh yeah, WHEN isnt the key to the vikes either moss with 100 yards or Smith with 125 yards. Are you just switching back and forth each week?

Mooch is a cooch, and a bitch.

Did PCC's mommy lock down the computer after the loss? But mooooooommy Joe Gibbs can't lose...

The Pittsburgh-Miami game has been postponed due to Hurricane Jeanne. It hasn't been rescheduled yet.

ESPN is reporting that they will play at 8:30 Sunday night. All 37 Dolphin fans are rejoicing! biggrin.gif This ought ot be one of the dullest games of the season. Other dull matchups include:

Bucs at Raiders-Okay Gruden's (and Tim Brown's)return to Oakland. BFD. Both teams look about 10 years older since they played in the Super Bowl 2 years ago. I hear the coaches did agree to let Jerry Rice and Tim Brown to use their Jazzies in the hope of increasing scoring.

Browns at Giants-Everbody thought the Shockey-Winslow matchup would make this game hot. But Winslow-bag is out for the year and Coughlin isn't throwing to Schlockey, who is now pouting. Wake me when this snooze fest is over. Actually wake me 15 minutes earlier so Tom Coughlin doesn't fine me.

Oooooh, sorry, but Coughlin wanted everyone awake twenty minutes before the appointed time (got that?), so you're fined anyway.

The Giants will go 3-13 this year and next, and Coughlin will be gone. Good.

Are the Lions for real? For now, the answer is no. The Eagles let up a little too much for my taste in the second half but there was certainly no letdown. I don't think they'll have a letdown this year. They want so badly to get beyond the NFC title game that they're not going to screw it up early.

One Word...

Domination

Lovey Dovey is a little bitch.

Manning and Favre put on a show. The Colts still have that little obstacle up in Massachusetts to get by, though.

Tom Jackson said on ESPN that the Eagles, Seahawks, Pats and Colts have separated themselves from the rest of the league. I'm inclined to agree.
hockeyTom
First time since 1977, that the 49'ers have been shutout. Go Hawks!
stinger85
Colts still have that pesky problem of no Defense. Every team has scored pretty easily on them.
Jim at Outsports
Hey Sting:
The same can be said about the Vikes (the Bears score 22?). The Colts have played the Pats, Titans and Packers, three preseason favorites, so going 2-1 is pretty impressive.

Also, check out my Week 3 notes to see this exchange about a center's sweaty butt.

Do I understand this correctly? Due in great part to poor clock management Washington is now in last place in the NFC East with a 1-2 record???? But....but what about THE GENIUS????

Joe did seem a step slow this evening.

Much to Danny Snyder's dismay, the Cowboys are 13-1 in the last 14 with the 'skins. tongue.gif

Ding dong the PCC is dead... and hiding under his bed.

Gibbs is a bitch.

I see obnoxious Eagles fans are up late tonight. Obnoxious Cowboys fans go without saying. Of course, if they follow the team's lead, Cowboys fans are up this late as a result of a drug high.

Speaking of obnoxious fans, it was recently discussed on a baseball thread how nasty the fans in Oakland can be at both A's and Raiders' games. But to their credit, in Sunday night's 'Super Bowl re-match' rolleyes.gif between the Raiders and Buccaneers the fans stood and cheered ex-Raider Tim Brown when he scored his 100th career TD. It's going to take awhile to get used to seeing Brown in a Bucs' uniform and Warren Yap in the silver and black. Another Raider-turned-Buccaneer, Charlie Garner, was injured and likely gone for the season.

At least we're here win or lose -- which is more than anyone can say for you. Frontrunner much?

Agreed! Although I didnt "see" it due to no power with the storm, I did hear it on the radio.

I watched the first half of the Skins/Boys game last night. I was surprised at how "out of it" Gibbs looked. This morning I saw the highlight of the last challenge -- wasn't even that close of a call.

That said, I think it's going to take Gibbs a few years to get his system in place and find a quality quarterback. The question is -- will Danny-boy be patient?

Wrong. Joe Gibbs was quite in the game. Remember, shall we, that the final score was 21-18, not 48-3, not 55-6. It was 21-18. It would be extremely unwise to write off this coach, this coaching staff or these players.

This morning I saw the highlight of the last challenge -- wasn't even that close of a call.

Wrong. Actually it was very close but even if it weren't, as a rule, you should always challenge calls like that. At that late stage in the game, if your opponent scoring a "touchdown" puts you multiple scores down, you should challenge the play because them scoring a "touchdown" is more detremental to your winning than losing a timeout. Mike Tice should have followed that advice.

If you only have one time out remaining, that policy is more debatable.

That said, I think it's going to take Gibbs a few years to get his system in place and find a quality quarterback. The question is -- will Danny-boy be patient?

Again, wrong. Mark Brunell was lethal in this game, once he stopped throwing to Lavernaeous Coles (who unbeknownst to everyone had a dislocated finger) and started throwing to receivers who didn't have dislocated fingers and caught the ball. If you'd watched the second half, when the Redskins made their two point conversion, they showed split screen between Bill and Joe. Bill was troubled because the Cowboys' and, especially their secondary's, spirits had been broken.

You should have watched the second half.

Last time i checked PCC losing was still losing. Not even that little bitch gibbs gets 1/2 credit.

The only 4-skin win this year was to the yucks. Probably THE worst team in football. Then they lost to the Gaints, who suck. Now they lost to the Pokes who have a banged up secondary. So Joe Gibbs beat down a bunch of rookies? Good job rocking up those solid 18 points on um.

Are you really sitting there trying to justify a "moral" vicotry that paracells got pissed off? You're shitting me right? If someone misses a tackle parcells is pissed off.

A better way to look at this is.. 2 marginal teams playing against eachother.. only one coach is too old to teach clock management..

Brunell is a leathal weapon.. funniest thing i heard all damn day.

PS are you still wearing your little dress from the game?

Too bad the NFL doesn't count halves as wins...Gibbs boys might be playoff bound.

Dude they lost to the GIANTS!!! The Giants! C'mon. As much of a Viking fan as I am I can freely admit when they suck. The Skins suck. You think Gibbs is encouraged by the fact that they lost by 3 instead of 30? I think not.

Culpepper was named the NFC Offensive Player of the Week for Week 3, the second time he's earned that honor this season. Even with a bye this week I bet he earns the NFC Offensive Player of the Month for September.
