4) PF hangs up, calls Joe in Philly. Demands Eagles chant.
5) JIP answers, "Hey Sting baby sweet cheeks!" and PF hangs up in disgust.
6) PF vomits. eek!
7) PF calls mdphl. Demands two-on-two two football match against Sting and CU
8) mdphl throws beautiful spirals to PF who catches all to win 126-2.
9) Sting busts a heel in disgust.

I was going to apologize for explaining my "take" on pro football, but after reading all the "Go (your team here)"s, y'know, never mind. I like watching football, period. I don't care who's playing, as long as the teams are fairly evenly matched. I don't care about any of the players individually. I don't care how the quarterback does in the red zone, green zone, or T-zone. I don't care to know what the quarterback's rating is, or how it relates to the team's power rating, or if the halftime show gets a PG-13 rating. I just like watching football. And there were some good games this week.
That said, I must confess to holding a grudge against the Denver Broncos. Not because of the team, the players, the uniforms, whatever. It's because when they do well, they come to dominate the media and attention here in Colorado, to the exclusion of absolutely everything else. I usually hope for a ho-hum 8-8 season for them, so people won't despise them, but I can still turn on the TV without some player (who sounds like he got hit doubletime with the Stupid Stick) saying, "You're watching Channel Five. Your Broncos station."

No one ever said that Puker Parrot was anything but a fool...those types have already forgotten how the Eagles started 0-2 two years ago and looked much worse than they did tonight. At the end of the season I see no reason to expect anything less than another NFC East title.
But clearly the Eagles offense needs to wake up. Playcalling was drab, and the penalties were a joke. And I'll complain yet again about why McNabb won't run the ball now and then. His and Reid's stubbornness is always their downfall when they lose. Why keep a weapon holstered if your other weapons aren't functioning properly? Just the threat of McNabb running would loosen up the opposing defense.
Andy Reid says the same crap in the post-game press conference after they lose. "I've got to do a better job blah blah blah." Get a new line.
The defense was like it was last year before Trotter took over as starter -- gave up lots of rushing yards but not many points. Not surprising since Trotter got himself ejected before the game! What is this, hockey? I don't know exactly what happened but getting ejected is stupid enough, let alone a pre-game ejection. Stupid, stupid, stupid.
Did anyone else find this game less than exciting at times? Just seemed the whole game was disjointed, with the penalties and replay challenges and timeouts and neither team putting together consistent drives. During the third quarter I started reading Entertainment Weekly.

Yes. Watched with 2 people and we agreed. Neither team was impressive and the play calling on both sides was awful. Do the Eagles know it is permissible to run the ball on 1st down once in a while? Michael Vick still is a bad passer.

PF and Philly fans, serious question... Has Reid lost control of this team? I agreed with the announcers that after the pregame debacle both coaches should have made their teams hit the locker room. Reid just seemed so introvert while talking to Trotter explaining his ejection. I know he doesnt like to show his emotions, which is where McNabb gets it from I am sure. But where is the leadership or authority? Or is he a "the pen is mightier than the sword" type of guy?

Time to get realistic...
Reid called a terrible game, refused to run the ball, called some terrible plays.
Lined up wrong, what 18 times?
The Oline forgot how to pass block.
Trotter is thrown out of the game.
Dmac turns the ball over 3 times
2 akers missed FG's
Oh yeah, and the Eagles had the ball with a chance to win the game. Hence, i'm not worried. Atlanta had that game circled all year, not the eagles (based on their preparation).
Expect Atl to lose next week and i feel sorry for the thumping the niners are getting.

How on earth do you get this? Trotter needs to be a smarter player instead of trading a pro-bowl MLB for a nickle CB. That is on Trott, not reid. That is not losing control of the team, unless you are throwing the TO offseason in this....

Very funny, you can't tell me that the Jets are really that bad of a team, and KC caught magic in a cup on Defense. It wont hold true through the season.
Same thing goes for Atlanta. You are going to see a huge emotional letdown next week from the and a loss in Seattle.

The Eagles played one of their worst offensive games, 2 missed FG, a couple of fumbles and an INT, and had their star MLB miss the game. With all that they took the game down to the wire. I am not worried about the Eagles. If 14-10 is the best a fired up Atlanta team is going to do at home then this is just a blip on the radar for the Eagles. If anyone thinks not having Trotter does not make a difference, last year the Falcons were held to 99 yards vs 200 last night.
I expect a big a game against SF next week.

Sep 13 2005, 08:01 PM
All we have heard is how Philly LOST the game, not how Atlanta WON the game.
McNabb's mistakes were caused by pressure. Pressure from Atlanta. The fact the Eagles couldn't run the ball wasn't the fault of play calling. When they did try to run, they couldn't. Excuses, excuses.
Then there's the Philly players dancing on the Falcon logo at the 50 yard line after the first incident.
"They thought they were going to bully us around," Falcons newcomer Ed Hartwell said.
They didn't.
The one common theme among both the Eagles players and their fans is the lack of respect they have for the opponent. Ever heard of winning with class and losing with class?
