If the Bucs have a running game (Cadillac plays)

Bucs 24
Fins 16

If Cadillac doesn't play and the Bucs look like the 2004 version. eek!

Too close to call...

Mike Martz will take a 4-5 week leave from the Rams to deal with a bacterial infection in a heart valve.

And Deuce McAllister is out for the rest of the season after tearing up his ACL.
shep71
It'll be intersting to see if C. Williams will be able to perform this weekend. It'll be intersting to see if R. Williams can perform this weekend.

I'm hoping for the later. The Panthers need to pick it up and start hoping for the Bucs to self-destruct, which shouldn't be too far off from what some people think around here.
Married Lady
The Mike Martz thing is probably a blessing for the rams. No more "mad scientist" to screw up games for them.

For those keeping score, I went back and looked at my predictions for the year. So far, I am 33/58 (I didn't have predictions for week 1, so I have to start at week 2.) That gives me a 0.568 over all. I'm above 50%!

Whoo hoo!

Big Ben suffered a hyperextended knee and and bone bruise. So though right now Charlie Batch is listed as the starter, Roethlisberger is available to play as of now.
Theo
Who is going to challenge the Colts (who have only allowed 29 points in 5 games) in the AFC?

Denver - Impressive wins at Jacksonville and at home vs S.D., Washington, and K.C. Big challenges the next 3 weeks vs N.E, @NYG, and vs. Philly. Will Jake learn how to be consistent on the road?

New England - Beat Pittsburgh and Atlanta. Loses to San Diego at home. Catch the Colts on Nov 7 at home again. How long before DEF woes catch up to them?

Cincinnati - Potent offense but was challenged by Jax DEF and gave up 23 points to them. Contender or Pretender?

Pittsburgh - Failed test at home to New England, however impressive win last night at S.D. A ground game and air attack with which to be reckoned.
HornFan
I heard on the radio that Tommy Maddox will be able to play this weekend for Big Ben. He's supposed to be back on the practice field tomorrow. No Charlie Batch.
Married Lady
Who is scarier: Charlie Batch or Koy Detmer? Who inspires more fear in their teams home town? You have to wonder.

If the Bucs lose, you talk about anything but the Bucs

If the Bucs win, you post pictures

Gus tears the Bucs apart. Chambers is about due for his annual 3 TD game.

Since Raze has hijacked the other football thread (Funny how mods allow that behavior, but chastise others who actually talk about sports as controversially/opinionated as it may be at times) with nonsense....

In preparation for the Redskins second loss... it is going to be tough for the Chiefs to give them that this week. Last year the Redskins gave up only 16.6 points per game and only three teams went over 20 points against them in 16 games and haven't yielded 20 this year yet either. They're -5 in turnovers and still 3-1 as a team which tells you the defense is damn good. The offense?
RazorbackTX
GO KANSAS CITY CHIEFS!!!!
BEAT THE WASHINGTON REDSKINS!!!!!

On Sunday, Oct. 16 2005, week 6 of the NFL.

OPEN PLEA TO EVERYONE IN THE UNIVERSE:

PLEASE DON'T POISON THIS THREAD!

I look forward to chatting football with a group of men who also enjoy talking about how good-looking the players asses are.

Please don't take this from me and make this an ugly place. I can't touch my toes, I have stretch marks, and I don't sleep anymore. Leave me what little joy I have.

Thank you.

Is this where I say the obligitory I was a top for 4 years, I'm just balancing out the equation so the "versatile" title is true.

But I agree with ML, let's keep the football threads about football.

Now if anybody needs me I'll be on my back, like Married Lady!!

Yes, Sting let's talk about football. Given your expertise, who are the best wide receivers out there?
PhillyFan
All one needs to do to beat Washington is to put up early points on them.

Where they hold people to 14-16 points, they cant score more than 17 themselves.

KC has had two weeks to prepare for this game, there is not an excuse for not at least scoring 20 points on them. KC needs to take some shots down the field and stay with the run if they want to win.
Married Lady
I'm hoping that the bears fans get creative with their taunting of the Vikings this week. They have the best fodder in the world. Fred Smoot's Love Boat!

(please see other thread for more information)

I'm also wondering how many times Dave Carr is going to be sacked. At this rate, he'll have broken his own record by week 9, poor little fella.

And did everyone see that Dre Bly and McQuarters have offered to play WR for detroit? Desperate times over there in Lion Land.
Kenny
The Caddy has been downgraded to questionable. I think Gruden was trying to push him at the beginning of the week with going from "out" last week to "probable" on monday. GRRRR!

Griese apologizes to teammates, taking blame for turning the ball over. I wonder how this will affect his play this week.
stinger85
Stick a fork in the Bucs. They're done. tongue.gif
Aubie In Bham
I wanted to see Ronnie vs. Carnell this weekend. Let's hope it can happen.
Kenny
I hope so as well, thats what I was looking forward to! Positive vibes for the Caddy to get better!!!!
PhillyFan
Griese can't win games...

Just ask Denver... and Maimi...
Married Lady
It's Week Six! And I'm STILL the only person who talks about all the games!

Atlanta at New Orleans – Atlanta (the question is: How long will Vick play before he pansies out and limps off.)

Carolina at Detroit- Carolina (The crowd will then storm the field and Joey Harrington will be duct taped to the goal post.)

Cincinnati at Tennessee – Cincinatti (DUH, they are gonna be mad after last week.)

Cleveland at Baltimore – Baltimore (The Ravens will still havesomeone ejected, but they won't lose.)

Jacksonville at Pittsburgh – Pittsburgh (Pitts Total Yards: 350 Passing yards: 97 Running yards: 253 Tommy Maddox *clap clap clap clap clap* Tommy Maddux!)

Miami at Tampa Bay – Miami (Ricky’s Back!)

Minnesota at Chicago – Minnesota (I THINK. Who knows, there’s a lot of weird shit that went on this week.)

N.Y. Giants at Dallas – Giants (It may be a shootout. A freakin’ weird shootout.)

Washington at Kansas City – Kansas City (Willie Roaf is back. It’s a RB Fiesta! Ole!)

New England at Denver – New England (Jake was lucky last week. This week it runs out.)

N.Y. Jets at Buffalo – Buffalo (Now this was made on Thursday, when I thought Holcomb was starting. If Mularky goes nuts and puts Losman in, then I might have to switch it.)

San Diego at Oakland – San Diego (It’s another RB Fiesta, and you’re invited!)

Houston at Seattle – Seattle (and after receiving his 32nd sack of the season, Dave Carr crawls off the field on all fours.)

St. Louis at Indianapolis – Indy (yeah, right, like St. Louis is gonna win this one. Get real.)

Hey, I'm working full time too, and toting around a little internal gremlin. Don't make me throw down the Martyr Card!

I just have my priorities straight. When it's lunch time, it's football time, damnit.
PhillyFan
Might i suggest getting the football network instead of watching Oprah all day?

Eagles Bye Week.
Married Lady
Heh, I'm such a superior spouse that we have NFL sunday ticket AND we have three TVs set up in the living room. I'm just that good.

And I just realized that I have to change my predictions. I screwed up my ohio cites. It must be the bon-bons.

Here are my revised predictions for the ohio games and I changed them above:

Cincinnati at Tennessee – Cincinatti (DUH, they are gonna be mad after last week.)

Cleveland at Baltimore – Baltimore (The Ravens will still have someone ejected, but they won't lose.)
stinger85
Married Lady, those of us that are eating for two gotta stick together. So with that, here are my Week 6 preview.

Atlanta @ New Orleans - Atlanta (The Saints only chance is Joe Horn tearing up the banged up ATL secondary, but Hall won't let that happen.)

Cincy @ Tenn – Cincy (Chad Johnson is quickly becoming a favorite player of mine, thanks to the NFL network. The Bengals O is for real, the Titans D is not.)

Jax @ Pitt – Pitt (Tough decision, so I went with the home team.)

Minn @ Chicago – Minnesota (The Vikes get some of their banged up players back, and I think their new advisors will help Culpepper more than they help Tice. I don’t think Tice and Culpepper like each other much. I might have more on this later.)

DC @ KC – KC (The Chiefs after a bye week should win. Last year their O exploded at about week 6 or 7. I think the Chiefs win this one in blow out fashion.)

Carolina @ Detroit – Carolina (Detroit won last week so that means they have their one win for the month of October.)

Cleveland @ Balt – Ravens (I think the Ravens D comes out with a chip on its shoulder, as if they weren’t scary enough anyway.)

Miami @ Tampa – Miami (Unless Ricky fades in the 2nd half when the munchies set in.)

Giants @ Dallas – Giants (The Giants front 4 are pretty good and their O is legit. Dallas will need to score more than 24 to win, and they won’t do that 2 weeks in a row.)

Jets @ Bills – Bills (Tough decision, so I went with the home team.)

New England @ Denver – New England (Denver is due for a collapse and the Patriots know how to make a team kill themselves.)

San Diego @ Oakland – Oakland (The Raiders are the most underrated team at this point in the season. Moss will eat the Chargers weak secondary for lunch.)

Houston @ Seattle – Seattle (Alexander is on a mission this year to get that rushing title. He’ll be hard to beat at home this year.)

St. Louis @ Indy – Indy (Colts can play D, the Rams can’t.)

How do you know you're pregnant already. The boat ride was only last week. Or are you confusing eating two with eating FOR two?

Nate Burleson won't be on of the banged up guys coming back. His knee is flaring up so he's out this week again.

stinger85
Ok, now I feel bad. I wasn't trying to detract from football. My ass gets enough attention without talking about it.

My apologies to Married Lady for the non-football talk.

I believe this week is the first week with a lot of division match-ups.

And I don't believe Eli has won on the road yet. Will he be able to beat Dallas?
PhillyFan
The answer is,

Eli needs to lose that game.

Washington needs to lose in KC or I hold CU responsible.

Come next week everyone is even in the east with a winning record.

Q: if the Gints continue to win and are close to a division title, when do the other teams get a free "home/away" game?

Seriously, people, I don't sleep well and I'm REALLY F'ING HORMONAL!

So, stick the subject of football or I'll get you, and your little dog too!
Married Lady
In keeping with the world of football though:

How Happy are the people of buffalo that Holcomb is starting again?

They have a chance to make the playoffs if they JUST KEEP LOSMAN ON THE BENCH! I mean, did anyone see him on the sidelines during the last game. He just stands there, cracking jokes and looking like the last Bills Loser QB, Rob Johnson. He doesn't even hold the clipboard and call in plays. What a waste!
stinger85
The Vikings new advisors may already be paying off. They are fixing their weakest parts of the O line for Sunday's game. Taking out last year's back-up center Withrow and rookie right guard Johnson. They are replaced by Fowler and Goldberg. They can't do any worse than Withrow & Johnson. Goldberg is a pretty solid performer. I don't know much about the Fowler guy.
coyoteugly
In fact, here's the new Viking offensive line:

PhillyFan
posting pretty pics, puker is that you?

If MN does not win this game, they dont win more than 3-4 games this year.
Married Lady
Well, for MN to win, their paper tiger defense better stop getting blown and show-up.
