I love watching the Eagles \"fans\" boo their own team, what a class act. [/QB]
Frankly, this angers me. If I go to a game and spend an exorbidant amount of money to see my team stink up the joint, you can bet I will be booing my gonads off against my home team. If they don't like it, they'd better start playing well or at least act like they give a crap. Otherwise, they WILL be hearing from me.
If I were a player, I'd have taken the mentality of players who say "if I were in the stands, I'd boo me too."
Going back to the Eagles' so-called offense, I was wondering if McNabb had some kind of injury we didn't know about like a strained groin or something or if Reid told him to stay in the pocket no matter what because he looked constrained much of the game. He also seemed to move a little gingerly by the latter stages of the fourth quarter, which could at least partly be attributed to being slammed to the turf every other play.
And I'm ready to throw the West Coast offense out the window. I'm definitely no proponent of the Fun & Gun, but at least throw a FEW passes downfield. If you get some 15-20 yard completions, you open the running game up for McNabb and Staley.
If MARK RYPIEN could open things up by adding designed bootlegs to the Redskins offense in 1991, then surely McNabb would be a lot more dangerous moving around the pocket.
FYI, I am a Redskins fan, but I was getting frustrated for the Eagles (though I wholeheartedly agree with Gator Jamie about Gruden. WOOF!)

Dmac has some "complex" about being a running qb. Listen, he stunk up the joint. He's too afraid to throw an INT that he wasnt pushing to ball anywhere except for that 2 yard dump off pass. Point is you need to take at least 1 or 2 deep shots at one time, i saw NOTHING over 20 yards. Not even a try at it.
The question is... why do you not run the ball? you throw a 1 yard wr screen.. a 2 yard dump off to duce... ect ect... and then you only run the ball to the back, what... 12 times?
Andy reid is a fat jackass. He needs to get his head of his ass right here, right now. Forget scripting all those plays. Adjust your game plan if it's not working. Play aggressive, call some aggressive plays... tell dmac to take a chance...
The D cant win every game.

Actually, why dont you try that for once.
I did see a few things that were good. One the run D looked good with the smallish new lb's. When healthy, the db's still shut down the bucs wr's. Hollis Thomas had a great game.

As a Bucs fan who has followed this thread from the sidelines, I have to say I think PhillyFan is being somewhat calm in defeat (he obviously has not committed suicide, as some were predicting) and seems to understand and not be afraid to say what his team did wrong. I would think it's the Bucs' fans' jobs to point out what Tampa Bay did right. And not just that they won. But hey, that's just me.

As usualy WM1865 is a voice of reason and a true american patriot!
Then again if you are counting on any of the buc fans here to say anything other than "yippy we won! We are the BEST" I'd not count on it.

I'm thinking if I were coaching the Eagles that I might be tempted to give A.J. Feeley that "if I were you, I'd get ready to get in the game" glance. That, of course, is not to be confused with that, "come here you hot stud" glance. Then again, I just remembered that Koy Detmer is actually the backup.
The worst thing for Eagles fans is that the team looked scared. If I didn't follow football as fantatically as I have since 1987, I would have thought that the EAGLES were the defending champs and the BUCS were the team hungry to knock them off.
I'm not willing to write off the Eagles yet. One game only proves that you've won a football game. If the Eagles start out 1-6 (like a few prognosticators said the Redskins would do), then I'd be willing to start calling for Andy Reid's head and call for the Eagles to put Feeley in at quarterback.

Koy Detmer is the holder for field goals and extra points. He can't be lower than the #2 because the #3 QB can't play unless the other two are knocked out of the game. Since Koy can't be #3, the only way for Feeley to play is if McNabb is #3. With McNabb's contract, that'll never happen.

Eagles fans dont need fancy little pirate ships. They dont need entertainment to get them in the stadium. In fact, i can tell you that most of us dont want the hoopla. Just a nice LOUD stadium filled with beer. No scoreboard is needed to let people know when to cheer. Eagles fans dont need little battle flags. Just a white towel to wave or cry in... your choice. [/QB]
A nice quote I found above, I thought for good reading. I guess to hear PF talk, they need a new coach and team to be entertained??? You still heading back on vacation? Or did that 0-4 betting start deplete the funds?

Some teams have a complicated set-up in the event a starting quarterback gets injured, but the guy who otherwise would be the third-string quarterback is the holder on extra points, field goals, etc. They let the holder-QB finish the game out and the guy who holds the clipboard becomes the starter in the next game. I think that's what happened with the Redskins in 1990 when Mark Rypien got hurt: Jeff Rutledge was the holder and he finished out a game, but Stan Humphries started subsequent games (until the Detroit game when Rutledge came in and threw for 363 yards and led the team's greatest-ever comeback).

This is not going to happen, and this will never ever happen unless dmac is injured. You need to set up dmac in a position to scramble around, tell him to take some deep shot. How's this, run the stinking ball a few times throughout the game.
All is not lost, or even close. Just one game, as i said before. Turn the page. See how they try to turn this around...
Reid needs to quit being so conservative in his game calling with these big games.
Bmitch, hugh, and landetta. Those are 3 names that were easily discarded in their eyes. Lito's 4 yard avg on punt returns should make them start questioning their motives of who they keep and who they dont. Those 2 cb's have contracts that are up this year. Priority numero uno is to keep them... 12 million under the cap doesnt do jack shit for you when the game starts.

Hey PF, I hate to say "I told you so...", but, I told you the Bucs D wouldn't miss a beat with Webster in there, in fact he was the Bucs leading tackler.
Don't EVER doubt the Bucs D!!!!
PS - I had lunch in Philly today. Bucs visor, jersey on, the city of Philly NOT feeling brotherly love today. They didn't even want to look me in the eye.
Even did a little Tampa BAY cheer in the terminal with some of my Buc brothers that were at the game.
Hopefully we will see the Eagles in Tampa in January......

Listen, you've posted the same comments over and over for the last 2 months, not just here now, but now on 2 sites... get a clue dude.

Thanks for turning me on the the 700level, I LOVE that sight. Had a blast last night! Arizona Eagle was on there for awhile but then had to get back to his "party" (yeah, right...

) The Bucs proved they were the better team last year and did it again last night. No flukes, no "less than 100% healthy". There is no disputing the facts; 27-10, last year 17-0, this year, both @ Philly. You seem to get Gruden's Bucs confused with Dungy's Bucs. Doubt you'll ever make that mistake again.
However, after seeing Philly fans first hand today. THEY ALL know where they stand when compared to Grudens Bucs vs. Reids Eagles. As much as I'd LOVE to see the Eagles come to Tampa in January. I don't think the Eagles will be there to be had.
Game Over, Tally Ho!!!!!!
