Let's see, he's traded for Trung Canidate (Rams). He's signed Randy Thomas (Jets), Dave Fiore (49ers), Regan Upshaw (Raiders), Brandon Noble (Cowboys).
Today, he re-signed Tre Johnson, signed Rob Johnson (Bucs), John Hall (Jets) and Lennie Friedman (Broncos).
And he's looking at Raghib Ismail and Jermaine Lewis. Lewis is someone they really need because the Redskins return teams have been terrible for years.

Hasn't he always been on a signing spree? Now, if this time he's actually signing good players...but Rob Johnson? Ummm, no.
It's amusing, however, to compare this approach to that of the Eagles, who keep saying that fans will find their plan for the off-season to be more exciting than in recent years. And yet, thus far most of it has revolved around the players they're likely going to LOSE (Brian Mitchell, Hugh Douglas, Shawn Barber), and their fan-UNfriendly policies with regard to season-ticket renewals (higher prices going into the new stadium, must be paid up front--not payable in installments, no credit cards accepted...until last week, when they said that if you call and give them a good reason they might accept a credit card).

John Hall is a nice pick up. He's an improvement over what they had. And I've always thought he was a cutie. He's a solid, middle-of-the-pack kicker, but he's no Jason Elam or Mike Vanderjagt.
As to the others: YAAAAAAAAAAWWWWWWWWWWWWWWNNNNN.
A Raider reject (Regan Upshaw). The King of Sacks (getting, not giving) (Rob Johnson). A Dallas Cowgirl defensive drone (Brandon Noble). Why do I get the feeling that Snyder is doing this just to feel like he's "doing something"? These moves don't seem to be part of any master plan, other than spend spend spend.

ex·cite ( P ) Pronunciation Key (k-st)
tr.v. ex·cit·ed, ex·cit·ing, ex·cites
To stir to activity.
To call forth (a reaction or emotion, for example); elicit
To arouse strong feeling in: speakers who know how to excite a crowd.
So maybe this offseason is exciting as far as the Eagles front office is concerned since most fans are stirred up and are reacting negetively to the goings in this offseason.

Alright i heard that this weekend B mitch and S. Barber were signed? barber by the chiefs for 30 mil? if so they overpaid for him, but that hurts. B mitch to the Giants? or was that just a rumor?
Dude snyder always goes out and makes a splash... the skins always have huge amounts of talent, but never do nuttun....under achieve that is what they are best at.

None of these guys jump out at me as a great get. Candidate had a couple of nice games with the Rams, but I'm not sure he's a first rate starting RB (like Stephen Davis).
Maybe a guy like Rob Johnson thrives in Spurrier's system, but without an effective running threat, the passing game won't work anyway.
In totality, the players the Redskins have signed are better than the players they are replacing.
Among their bigger problems last year was the offensive line. Until they signed Tre Johnson, around the middle of the season, the guards were terrible. Just improving the guard play, makes them better. The worse part is that bad offensive line play didn’t just spring up during the season. The front office made no attempt to get better during last offseason and the play during the preseason was atrocious. And that just went on through the regular season.
Special teams were a nightmare. Punting was bad. Kicking was worse and the return teams were worse than both of those, combined. In addition to a kicker, we really need a return man.
They got Trung Canidate for almost nothing and they had to get rid of Stephen Davis. His cap value was too high and he really didn’t fit into Spurrier’s offense. The running game was just as good with Ladell Betts and Kenny Watson as it was with Davis. My guess is that it will be “running back by committee”.rather than having one feature back getting 25 or 30 carries. As much as I like Stephen Davis (and I still do), it’s a given that he’s going to miss some games and he’s going to fumble at the most inopportune times.
I do have to wonder, if Rob Johnson is much of an improvement over Danny Weurffel, though.

...and Brian Mitchell did sign with the Giants.
According to the Post, the Redskins are close to signing two restricted free agents, Matt Bowen (safety, Green Bay) and the one that I'm really excited about Chad Morton (kick returner, Jets). Not only is he a good kick returner, he is major studly.

Can't believe the Jets let cutie pie John Hall go. Good pick up.
But, let Danny Boy spend and spend....Nothing gives me more pleasure than see him lose his millions and also games...the added bonus this time around is that Steve Superior loses also...

The Jets could potentially let another cutie pie go. Cutie Pie Chad Morton has an offer on the table from the Redskins and the Jets have 7 days to match.

Anyone know when danny's little purse is going to go dry? They still have cap room left? who's gonna run the ball for danny? how durable is trung?
Now, I think this is too much!!!
Coles Talks Heat Up I think Laveranues Coles is a good player but I don't think he's worth the 13th pick in the draft.

Danny boys team might do better if he left them in-tact for at least a season so that they all figure out who they are playing with....

Coles would be the best "get" for Snyder this offseason. Losing him will hurt the Jets greatly, IMO. Spurrier wants to throw the ball and Coles is a terrific receiver.

Well guys like Favre, Bledsoe, Kelly and Elway have thrived in places with as bad, if not worse, weather. Of course, Patrick Ramsey and Rob Johnson are not QUITE in that league.

Phillyfan, between Canidate, Ladell Betts and Kenny Watson, the Redskins running game will be fine.

Kenny who? ladell who? that RB by committee just dont work, ask the fat man about that....
on paper that skins D was supposed to be good too ... Skins maybe improved themselves to give the giants a run for second place in the division.

The running game was better with Kenny Watson and Ladell Betts than it was with Stephen Davis. They're both quicker to the hole and faster after breaking through the hole then Davis was and they fit much better in Spurrier's offense.
And the Giants are going to take their typical plunge the year after making the playoffs. And, last year, the Eagles were as good as they are going to get. Their only way to go is down.

Just tell the ball coach to concentrate on scoring as many points as he can in the pre-season... that will make everyone have high hopes again.

I just wonder if Coles' compensation includes a Dillard's charge card (he was, after all, part of that incident with P. Warrick). Don't think for a second that the SpurDog has forgotten about that.
And isn't John Hall the same guy from Tennessee who beat my GAYtors as time ran out in 1999 or so?

Six Feet Under aka the Coles, Chrebet, Moss trio has been busted up. The Jets didn't think it would be a wise business move to match the Redskins offer sheet to him.
Coles became one of the most exciting guys to watch this past season and I sure hate to see him go to a team that I despise so much.

Lil danny should understand that by signing all those players from the Jets, their wins dont come with them...
When will the "ball" coach be fired hmmmmmm.. Spurrier has alot to learn in the NFL, it's called adjustments... He wont adjust his offense, and his QB was laying on his ass when they played philly last year... except for a few "oh by the way" td's.
With all these new players? who's gonna run the ball? RB by committee? HMMMMMMM, anyone eagles fans wanna say how that system works out??
Phillyfan, the Redskins will win more than 8 games this year.
And I guarantee you, the Eagles best years are behind them. They have lots of cap space but all they're doing is getting worse and worse, losing more and more players.

I read today that according to the NY Post, the arbitrator who awarded Morton to Washington is...a Redskins season-ticket holder! Can you say "conflict of interest"? Though the decision, from what I read, would seem to be the correct one.
Just cuz the draft is over, what makes you think the Redskins wouldn't sign another veteran free agent?
