I'm just curious to know something; have any of you guys heard of the New England Patriots? I'm told that they are this football team in the AFC East that has clinched a divisional title and are 12 and 2, just like the Chiefs, who play a weaker schedule. I was just wondering because I never really see them mentioned. Let's see, they beat Philly, the Colts, Dallas, Denver, Miami(twice), Tennessee just to name a few. Next week they're going to beat the Jets, again, and then the Bills, savagely, after the drubbing the Bills gave the Pats in the opener.

Hey Sparky perhaps that is a question you should be asking your fellow New England Outsporters. We can't help it if they choose to remain silent. I am sure you will hear plenty if they make it back to the bowl.

Can't say I've read too many of your posts regarding the Pats either for that matter. That said, if you check the NFL Power Rankings thread you might want to note they are rated #1 by Outsports pollsters and have been for a couple of weeks.

I think what he meant is "Why isn't there a Pats thread for every game like the Eagles get?".

I hope Philly gets bounced in the first round. They're the Joe Horn of this message board.

You must be watching a different channel than the rest of the football world. The PATS are considered the best team in football by almost every sprots agency in football.

I think they're still recovering from the Red Sox losing to the Yankees. The other New England Outsporters will probably join in just soon enough to see New England get trounced in the AFC Championship game...just like the Sox did!!

Joe In Philly, you're the best; all you guys are the best. I just now checked out responses to the thread and I can't stop laughing. Good fun, and a good sense of humor. Recognize and realize, the Pats will not lose in the first round. I like 'em for the Super Bowl. I'm not saying for sure that they'll win, but they look damn good. They are 12 and 2 Lads. A friend of mine was such an obnoxious Vikings fan that I laughed for days when they got trounced in the playoffs 42-0 by the Giants.

During their Super Bowl run, it was the Ravens because of Ray Lewis, Shannon Sharpe, Tony Sarigusa and....well, the whole team basically.

Last year it was the Bucs.

This year, it's the Eagles.

Since I don't support any NFL team, I'm a free-agent bandwagon-hopper/hater. This year, I'm on the Colts and Bengals bandwagons and hate the Iggles.

What no battery/boo santa/cheer irvin/snowball comments? what a let down....

Seriously, I loathe the Dallas Cowboys, I have since the 70's and always will. Along with the Atlanta Braves, Notre Dame football and Liverpool FC, the Boys make up my Axis of Evil, teams that I want to lose every single game they play for the rest of eternity. Or slide in to crippling bankruptcy and disband, whichever comes first. The Eagles are just a one-night stand whose name I won't even remember in the morning.

GVF, I stand corrected about the final score of the worst capitulation that I've ever seen in the NFL. Dennis Green should have been fired 30 seconds after that game ended.

And yes, JinP, Sportinlife and Scottie are excellent people, but still, lines must be drawn at some point, otherwise we descend in to the chaos of moral relativism. I don't think Scottie is an Eagles fan, actually, I think he only really follows baseball. He's really cool that way.
