The NCAA imposed more sanctions on the Univ. of Michigan -- as penalty for misdeeds during the Fab Five era.
There will be no postseason play next year -- and they will lose one scholarship per year for the next 4 years.
Michigan had hoped that its own self-imposed sanctions would be enough for the NCAA -- but obviously they weren't.
It had:
-- placed itself on probation
-- no post-season play in 2003
-- forfeited more than 100 victories
-- returned over $400,000 in postseason revenues
-- took down championship banners from the arena
