They completely f**ked my bracket

I picked Louisville to run it to the final four
Ballbusters
I had Mississippi State coming out of that bracket so it kind of helped me that Butler won. Actually glad Louisville lost because I am afraid that Rick Pitinos ego would get bigger....if that is possible

don't hate butler. the fault lies not in our stars, but in ourselves that we are underlings.

translation from shakespeare (this is for you cyd!): you filled out your own bloody bracket, live with it!

besides, it's auburn we should hate. oh, the things they did to my east region. oy, i may never recover. but the beauty of it is, there's always next year!

Year in, year out, there's always ONE bracket that confounds most folks' prognostication. This year, Butler and Auburn seem to be on parallel courses, and should each of them upset next week (Oklahoma and Syracuse), then Auburn and Butler would square off for a shot at the Final Four.....

I don't think there's too many people with either of those teams in their Final Four.

I was betting on a UK Louisville final

That would be the all time match up

Speaking of Butler, three of their players are from the same Indiana high school ... one with a (nearly) 10,000-seat fieldhouse (and a school that probably should have been split but was kept big for basketball). rolleyes.gif
Butler's ride to Sweet 16 powered by Chrysler

You guys see should Sports Illustrated's bracket in last week's publication. It's so jacked up. They only guessed 5 of the sweet 16 teams.

danimal, actually New Castle High School has about 800 students according to the Indiana Dept. of Education's website. There are about 120 high schools in the state with larger enrollment. A lot of school's gymnasium sizes are not proportional to the enrollment. I'm not sure how they keep churning out Division I players.
ung
how thy churn out all those Steve Alfords is because in snall town Indiana, basketball is like a religion.
Tim
My graduation class was about 800,we were the 4th or 5th largest school in the state and our gym only held about 4,000.I can remember visiting Chrysler for the first time and being amazed by the fieldhouse. It is Huge and even has a tartan floor-it may only seat 9,300 but I guarantee tha they have crammed over 10,000 in there on occasion.

Haven't seen the SI article yet, but if it's by Seth What's his name, then I'm not suprised the brackets are all screwed up.I was sittng behind him at the Pod practice for Indy, and I saw his bracket sheet.Talk about all wet tongue.gif I also was doing my best to listen in as he was making cell calls, and presumably doing some phone interviews. He LOVED Illinois- was sucking up to Self big-time while the Illini were practicing and gushing on the phone. He also had Alabama over IU,so that really undermined his credibility in my eyes.I tried to politely point out the error of his ways, but he pretty much ignored me.Maybe next time he'll listen... biggrin.gif

OK, thanks for the clarification. Still, I've heard of schools that are big enough to split but didn't because they wanted a bigger pool of players ... which worked back in the days of the one-class state tournament. Now the tournament has size-based classes, like those in other states, so it doesn't matter.

If anything, the field house size backs up ung's point about Indiana's obsessive devotion to prep hoops. rolleyes.gif

Actually, I have nothing against Butler or New Castle ... I just saw the article and thought it fit the topic. smile.gif

This whole mess started when Dick Vitale dissed Auburn for 20 minutes and sang the praises of Mississippi State for 20 more.
