Bronze Medal
DClaremont entry 1080*
Perhaps if we discover a French judge was in cahoots with another and gypped you out of some points you may move up. But I think you'd best settle for third! Great going!!

We had 19 players correctly predict Maryland would win it all. Granted many of us took decidedly odd ways to reach that conclusion but these are the few, the proud:

ARRRGGH!
Just one place away from being on the medal podium. Can't the judges award one more medal? I can share...

Do I get a date with Juan Dixon as first prize?...platonic of course!
Oh..and no photos please, wouldn't want to blow his chances to get a good spot in the nba and lots of ad revenue. However I wont swear not to blow other things..

Great job as usual, George (not that we expected anything less, of course )....btw, in reviewing your list (I won't even mention where I finished in the standings thanks to Gonzaga's early outster ) it looks like the team named "Go Terps" did NOT pick Maryland to win the title?!....that seems odd to me but big kudos to sportinlife -- well done guy!

Aw shucks guys you got me blushing!
Anyway, I live to service, er, I mean serve. I really enjoy running these things, so no thanks are necessary. But if you insist...

Gamecock, I'm the odd one here. I'm a pretty big Terps fan, but I thought Kansas would beat Maryland in the semifinals. It cost me 280 points, but it was worth it. Congratulations to my fellow Terrapin fan sportinlife for winning the pool and having more faith in the Terps! And thanks to George for running the pool! Doing the pool on the Internet was definitely the way to go.
Now what I want to know is who the Go Stanford person that picked Maryland to win is.

Hey pat125 it was in the numbers (numerology) two thousand second game in two thousand second year.
Terrapins are slow as everyone knows.
Seriously though, I simply went with the odds, and a vague memory of what has happened in past years, with respect to most of the other teams; and took Maryland to win it all based on blind faith and a desperate desire to see them finally do it.
Not PURE luck, but certainly nothing magical.

George, did Cyd give you permission to reveal his "hidden" identity?....it was a great contest anyway....and kudos to pat125 to having the cajones to admit he didn't pick his Terps to win it all....I guess Pat wasn't too disappointed to see Kansas lose in the semis, though
I, too, picked the Jayhawks to win it all (for about the fifth time in the last decade I think) and one of these years I will be proven correct....but in the meantime I'll continue to enjoy watchin these cute student-athletes runnin around playin in their shorts.

I had Kansas going all the way, too. I'm just so relieved to have climbed out of the cellar in the final standings that I FEEL like I won!

Big round of applause for the champ Sportin life, UW fan and DClaremont. It was a close one. With the number of guys entering this challenge, you are the very best.
Thanks to George_vikingfan for another fun challenge.

What was I gonna do, pick Stanford to win it all? I may be a loyal fan, but I'm not THAT loyal.
And now that Jacobsen and Borchardt may be leaving - ugh.
