From ESPN's Page 2 Daily Quickie:
Which NYC-area baseball player was reportedly swindled by an athlete-groupie blackmail scam? The rumored gist is that players get lured back to a hotel room, slipped a knock-out drug, then photographed in p.r.-unfriendly positions with other men.

Wow! where can we get those pics?
But seriously, are you as cynical as I am, and do you wonder if this "item" is a pre-emptive strike being disseminated to de-fuse real (i.e., not staged for blackmail purposes) compromising pictures that some star athlete is afraid may be leaked? So if they come out he can say, "But it was a scam -- they drugged me, I'd never do those things."

I'd have to agree RGMike. Sounds like a planted story to me. But I wouldn't mind seeing a link to the pics

It seems to me that if baseball players were being lured to hotel rooms and slipped knock-out drugs, their teams would notify the police and such incidents--especially if they occur in the NYC area--would be highly publicized.

In a related story, Mike Piazza held a press conference today to announce that he has never been drugged nor blackmailed...

"burn his bible"... if that isn't a euphemism, it should be.
