One of the more interesting sidelights to this story, Bucky, which was mentioned on the radio this morning (but not in that local Wisconsin column you provided the link to) is that the USM-Marquette basketball game to be played in Green Bay is scheduled to take place on Friday night, January 17th....while this was clearly set up as a "reward" for Brett Favre and to enable him to attend the game (a HOME game for So. Miss?

) the NFC Championship game is scheduled to be played that Sunday, January 19th....I know, the likelihood of the Packers playing in that game looks pretty slim (sorry to burst the bubble of all the Pack supporters, albeit early in the season) but even if they do somehow manage to advance that far the only way Favre gets to attend is if Green Bay happens to be HOSTING the NFC Championship, which is even MORE unlikely IMHO.
Oh well, it's a long way off and it probably won't even come to that but I found it interesting that the So. Miss. A.D. would reschedule this "home" game for the sole purpose of enabling Favre to be there in person and schedule it for THAT specific weekend -- do you suppose he doesn't think too highly of the remaining talent of his "star alum" or of the Pack's postseason chances this year?
